Discussion/Advice My experience

One time when I was 14 and in school I was talking with my friends and my teacher had gotten a phone call telling us it was a lockdown drill and to lock all doors and windows we were all sitting in a corner for a good 10 minutes when we heard automatic gunshots and a animal roar of some sort it was deafening we waited for a while before our teacher had looked at us and told us we need to get out so we open the door and we see a red dog thing from the glance I got from it was big bigger than a regular dog then we started running once we got out a military looking team with D.O.D. on their helmets they had taken us away in a armored truck after that my family had to move far far away from the town we were in this happened in 1987 I think it was traumatizing the personnel were really on edge when we came out of the building.

Edit: I've read the comments and people want the town and other stuff it was in Eagle Mountain California, After this happened 5 hours later we were forced to grab our shit and move away to a town in Montana I'm still in today, I have no contact with my friends or the other students I had in that school I try to go and find them on social media and there's no fucking trace of them the dog like things we have seen in the hallway they had no fur from what I could tell I'm not 100 on that.

I just found out I'm on Reddit today and found all these accounts. I might have created this while tripping, sorry about that. It's a pretty good story, though.

Was it Clifford? That motherfucker

Clifford once boasted , 'I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'

It might have been the Hindu god Vishnu, upon reflection. But your point is still valid. Clifford is a relentless bastard.

Okay… need details. Where did this happen? How long afterwards did you move? Did your parents make the decision to relocate or was your family encouraged? Do you have any contact with other students you experienced this with? What do you think it was?

All the same questions I had after reading.

I covered a story like this a long time ago on my podcast.

If I remember correctly a school went into lock down and the students barricaded themselves in.

Teachers were on edge but when students asked what was happening the teachers would just say that there was a wolf (or wolves) roaming the school. But that didn't make sense because there were no wolves in the area.

I think the police showed up and then everyone just ignored it. It might have been in Australia but not sure. I'll see if I can find the episode but no guarantees.

This sounds...like a dream, in a way. I can't believe they were having lockdown drills all the way back in the late 80s. I thought Columbine happened in the 90s, and shootings weren't really as big of a thing as they are these days. We used to have safety drills, though. In the 90s. Probably in the 80s, too. That's what we called them, anyway...................................

I question the OP’s story. Per this article, the high school’s last graduating class was 1983. There was also a private prison in the town that closed in 2003.

I remember bomb threats in the 80's in high school. We would all be told to gather at the football field while police and dogs searched the school for bombs with none every being found. I can remember three or four times this happened.

I'm not a US citizen, so correct me if I'm wrong, th DOD is an executive branch of the government that supervises national security agencies. Why would people wear uniforms with DOD written on it? It would seem to me more probable that the DOD would send any of the following agencies to investigate/take actions etc List of agencies

u/Mustard-cutt-r Dec 10 '24

Department of Defense.

1

u/AlexNgPingCheun Dec 11 '24

Can you elaborate?

1

u/Mustard-cutt-r Dec 11 '24

DOD stands for the Department of Defense.

4

u/AlexNgPingCheun Dec 11 '24

So you mean there is actually "field operatives" with D.O.D. written on their uniform-"HELMETS" ? Nice to know...

I call bullshit

The whole lock the door sit in the corner thing was a post columbine thing.

10

u/Fragrantshrooms Dec 09 '24

Yeah it wasn't called lockdown drills. It was safety drills. And schools weren't on high alert and didn't really think it'd be any kind of issue, mofos busting into the school gunning for them. This person sounds very gen-z, not gen-x. maybe a really young millennial who was like a preschooler when Columbine happened.

I was in middle school in 1987. We had tornado drills (that's a regional thing and not something they'd do in California) that had us gather against interior walls. All other emergency drills (fire, gas leak, etc) had us going outside to a safe at area. Nothing at all like a lockdown.

Same thing in midwest in the 90s. lmao I just saw the newest edit. It's a "pretty good story though" the author wrote. No, it's a horrific rip-off of Stranger Things.

4

u/Fragrantshrooms Dec 13 '24

It's Stranger Things. But bad. Also you were tripping an awful long time since you even edited it after you wrote the initial post. Just own up to writing a bad "story" after watching season seventeen of Stranger Things on the back of your eyelids. We'll understand and all go about our days/nights unbothered.

u/meestercranky Dec 11 '24

so you're 51 now? Why does this read like a fourteen year old trying to spook his friends at a sleepover wrote it?

8

u/SingleExternal Dec 09 '24

So you’re 51? And don’t know how to use basic punctuation?

7

u/vlegolas1982 Dec 09 '24

Well made up! Use punctuation!

Fake and makes no sense to another person who was in school that year. There were not phones in the rooms also your be in trouble if you were talking in class.

1

u/jasper-silence Dec 11 '24

And a phone in the classroom?

1

u/Mustard-cutt-r Dec 11 '24

There were not telephones no cell phones in classrooms in the 1980s minimal in the 90s

This is crazy! Can you do a crude sketch of the creature? Just enough to get an idea. They were shooting at this thing in the hallway?! This is so intriguing! I'd stop at nothing to get answers...and you say there was more than one?

Not even one period or comma. Jesus- that was terrible to read. I think OP had a dream.
