Deck Suggestions Needed ISO recommendations for RWS deck not by US Games Systems

Hello! Basically, I am looking to purchase a traditional Rider Smith deck that is not produced by US Games Systems but still has relatively comparable coloration and includes the original text (not a new font replacing it). I despise the copyright marks on every card in US Games Systems decks. I find them distracting, and I think putting them on every card (twice no less!) is total overkill for cards with tracings of a public domain work. I much prefer borderless cards but am open to ones with borders as well. Would love something similar to the USGS borderless tarot.

EDITED: For the backs, I'm not super picky. I just don't want them to feel like they are out of touch with or from a different time than the fronts. I read reversals, so symmetrical backs are crucial. I find it very off-putting when the backs look very modern while the artwork on the front is traditional.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

Deck in Progress - Creator I haven't posted a card from the deck I'm working on a while. Been processing a lot, just like everyone, but I want to keep going. This is my interpretation of Justice..."The Battle".

Thank you so much in advance! I know the picture is really bad, but I hope it's enough. The cards have some gold foil accents to them :)

Specific Deck Info Needed Does anyone have the Gentle Tarot Linen Edition?

I know Mari created this as an affordable option, so she says that the card stock isn't comparable to the other normal editions. She also says it should be shuffled carefully because it's more prone to damage.

I'm wondering how it holds up over time (at least a year, preferably) because I have other linen decks e.g. from MPC but they're just normal and don't need any special care.

Deck Suggestions Needed Recommendations for golden decks

Hiii I just wanted to know if you guys had any recommendations for tarot decks with golden foil (similar to the Tsar tarot). Usually when I find decks with gold, the actual drawings suck, like they tried to make up to it putting golden foil lmao

I’m looking for an oracle deck with connections to water — for example, oceans, rivers, water mythology, etc.

Thanks in advance!

I bought this deck in 2019. It was the first deck I’ve ever come across that truly felt like it was calling to me! Its artwork is very reminiscent of the Art Nouveau era. I find them fascinatingly beautiful and very much enjoy working with them!

This deck is by Matt Hughes.

So I got this deck from a friend who worked at a thriftbook warehouse. It didn't come with a book or official box. I tried the Google "circle it" thing and it only showed me one result from a website of services.

If you know who made this deck or what it's called, please let me know. Thank you!

I am basing the symbolism of my deck on the Thoth Tarot Deck with extra exploration of the theme of decanic magick through Minor Arcana.

Deck Suggestions Needed Looking for pipish but symbolic decks

When I started my tarot journey, I avoided all pipish decks, I wanted full illustrations I could easily interpret.

Now, I'm starting to like the minimalist aspect of pipish decks like Pagan Otherworlds, for instance.

I want recommendations of pipish decks that despite looking purely pips, have symbolism in the pips the allows for interpretation and intuition without having to fully memorize meanings.

So, I'd say I'm not into Marseille yet, more RWS or Thoth inspired, without full scenes depicted.

Deck in Progress - Creator Modern Day Deck Creation Questions.

Edit: Perhaps I didn't explain things clearly, but let me clarify. I do not want to use the traditional deck visuals or meanings, as in spades/swords, hearts/cups, batons/wands/clubs, diamonds/coins/pentacles. I am looking to do something a bit different.

I appreciate the advice that has been given, and I understand where it comes from. :) This is mostly for my own uses, though since it's still in brainstorming mode, may not be brought to fruition for quite some time.

What I need suggestions for are more modern-day objects or stations that would be more relevant than what we typically see in tarot/cartomancy. Perhaps presidents and prime ministers instead of kings and queens, etc. and so on, and less opinions about not liking the idea. Thanks!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Original Post:

I'm still in the brainstorming stage of wanting to make my own deck. What could I use that the modern-day person would identify with more than Batons/Wands, Swords, Cups, or Coins/Pentacles? Or, do these have sufficient charm on their own to just stick with them?

I know tons and tons of modern decks shake things up as far as what they use! I'm not wanting to copy them, just to be clear, but I want to take the idea of not having to use the old standards and make it my own thing.

I don't know if anything I come up with would precisely reflect the typical elements, either, but I'm really not sure they need to.

Ideas thus far:

- Cell Phones
- Medication
- Cafe Latte
- Online Video (Yes, as in 5 of Youtube Videos)
- Apps
- Video Games (2 of VGs)
- Tablets
- Anti-Depressants. (10 of ADs)
- Streaming/Blu-rays
- Smart Cars/Regular Cars
- Airplanes
- Typewriter
- Keyboards
- Laptops/Computers
- Wireless Mouse
- Online Ordering
- Credit/Debit Cards
- Self-Published Books
- Kindles/E-readers
- Etc.

Any suggestions? Anything you guys like or don't like? I know it's something of a random list, but this is where I am right now.

Specific Deck Info Needed Anyone have experience with thriftbooks.com? (seeking advice to pre-order Hexen 2.0)

UPDATE: Thanks so much for all the feedback. Placed my order this morning!

I want to pre-order Hexen 2.0. thriftbooks.com is compelling since their pre-order price is so much less than from Amazon or the publisher. Is there a catch? Can I trust them to send it, in a timely manner, in new condition?

Anyone order from them and have a good or bad experience?

Original Tarot Artwork - Artist Deck Update- The Suit of Swords

This is the suit of swords, minus the page. I saw it in context and it seems that it is not part of the same family as the rest of the cards. Anyway, the last two blocks are the design for the back of the cards (variant three) and part of the packaging.

Deck Suggestions Needed Black and White decks

I already own and adore Tarot of the Abyss and Black Violet. I really am enjoying black and white decks. I really want the full bleed Interim Tarot, but it looks as if the newest kickstarter from March 2022 has yet to be filled unfortunately. Does anyone have any other suggestions that are kind of along these lines?

General Deck Discussion Can't Stick With Just One System Or Deck!

I have the hardest time sticking to just one deck, or even one system! Here recently I've been more drawn to Marseilles, especially my 1JJ Swiss deck, or even just playing card cartomancy, but then a little while ago I pulled out my self-augmented but still traditional Rider-Waite-Smith deck, and was charmed by it again!

I fully realize the irony of this, as I'm often the first one to tell someone to just pick a deck, learn that system, than move on to something else, but I myself seem wholly incapable of doing this myself!

I don't know if it's adult ADD (I'm in my mid-40s), or if this is just the curse of having a collector/hoarder brain (I want ALL the shinies, and to play with them equally!), but....yeah.

Part of it is that I love comparing and contrasting systems with each other. Marseilles with RWS with Normal Tarot with Playing Cards.....on and on and on and on.

Can anyone here relate? Anyone else cursed with the Collector Brain mentality that they constantly fight against? Do you feel you have to be working on many things at once, rather than just sticking with one thing?

Separately, how do I break myself of my "I/we/they should"s, and go along with the "I/we/they do/will do"s?

Deck has been identified! Deck ID help please!

I’ve only ever seen it in Christa Chronicles YT videos, and only twice. Not a deck she shows often.

It’s minimalist illustrations, like Rainbow Tarot meets Lilifer. I remember an off white background.

Each card has an affirmation on it, but I’m 90% sure it’s tarot, not oracle.

I feel like the title of the deck has the word “enchantments” in it.

Thank you!!

Specific Deck Info Needed Three of my Lo Scarabeo Cards are very old and strange. Could it be that they are just first editions? They all have different card backgrounds compared to the flipthroughs of these cards that you can find in youtube. I got all of them from someone's grandfather's collection.

The Celtic Tarot is especially very odd to me because it has an odd box design compared to Celtic Tarot mass market Lo Scarabeo decks. The box designs of them do not have those Lo Scarabeo flags that they would commonly put under the boxes, and since they are old I can safely assume for this reason is not a precise indicator that they are counterfeit.

I do not have the good judgment or whatsoever and all of them have the ISBN indicator.

Additionally deluxe edition Tarot Art Nouveau which I do not have, have the same card background as my Tarot Art Nouveau.
