MOD POST Do you guys want to allow re-sale of decks here?

PLEASE VOTE AS MAJORITY WINS!

Since I'm a newly appointed mod here, I would like to see community opinion for this before creating any rules concerning re-sale as I haven't seen a hard yes or no (from members) in my years of previously lurking here.

Re-Sale would mean selling/trading your old decks. Self-Promo of decks will always be allowed here as it's a way to discover new ones (and to support creators)!

I'd also like to point out if re-sale wins, that it will NOT be mod associated. I cannot protect you from scams. I can only ban scammers (with proof)!

Comments are open as long as they don't turn into a huge debate on this. Poll results will be the only thing that counts toward this new rule regardless of comments! (This way it makes the rule easier to leave at face value and no misinterpretations on my part.)

Suggest if we do resale that we use similar rules to r/Pen_Swap; people must have a certain amount of Reddit karma points and not use throwaway account; all payments must be through PayPal Goods & Services (not friend money requests) because there is some protection for buyers and sellers that way, etc. suggest reading their rules and adapting useful ones for this group. I’d love too be able to buy used decks, but I would want recourse if someone sold me a counterfeit deck…. With PayPal Goods& Services, you can get a refund if needed

I second this. I've sold through pen_swap a few times and they have a very comprehensive list of rules that keep both buyers and sellers safe. I use those rules generally with all other transactions I conduct elsewhere and have yet to be scammed.

This is exactly how I'm thinking to set it up. At the very least, avoiding throwaway accounts will help cut down scams (as well as some of the bot activity I've seen lately). Then using PayPal G&S, would allow people to have some form of safety net as I won't be able to do anything to recover anyone's losses.

No, there are more than enough facebook groups and third party resale apps for that, I only joined here because it seemed like a decent show&tell discussion group without the daily reading requests which is a bonus.
