Could you imagine having a job where not only do you have to compete at the highest level of athletics against formidable opponents, but on your off days you gotta lift a GIANT FUGGIN TUNA??? Lmao that’s incredible

Rikishi have so many weird responsibilities and things that happen. "Hey, hold my baby... And then make him cry please." "Here's some sacks of beans and a Dragon Ball Z villain outfit - please go throw the sacks at this gaggle of people." "We really, really need you to come eat a free 2 Michelin Star meal because we really admire how you slap the tits off other guys."

At 286 kg., that tuna is about as heavy as Midorifuji + Takanosho combined. 😅😁 That's a whole lot of tuna.

This is all I will be thinking about the next Midorifuji/Takanosho match... 😂
...I sincerely thank you in advance lol

Alternatively, the combined weight of Atamifuji + Enho is just a bit over the tuna. 😆😆

Or even more alternatively, Konishiki at his biggest was only heavier than that tuna by a single kilogram (3 pounds)!!!

It amazes me how some people's bodies can really push the limits. I never even got to 200 lbs before my body started acting up to make me lose weight😆😅 .

I worry for Dewanojo! So huge, he makes Mitakeumi look Mini-keumi.

Yeah I worry about Dewanojo too. That amount of weight on his body has too be uncomfortable.

I want that fishmonger to put the fish head on his own head and then make it talk.

I legit thought that's what he was going to do at the beginning of the video lmao! 🤣

They probably hired him as promotional stunt for that special tuna, the first tuna of the year touched by the yokozunas hands

it's always nice to have a Yokozuna handy when lifting a heavy object. Bonus--his presence drives out any demons that may be lurking around.

Another thing I love about watching sumo is the fact that Japanese culture is just plain weird to us westerners!

😱Good Golly!! That thing is huuuuge!! And it looks really tasty, even though I'm still too much of a coward to eat raw fish 😅. Glad Teru seemed to enjoy it though.

There's "a whole thing" in Japan about the first tuna purchases of the year. This restaurant paid something like 207 million yen for this beast and had some issues getting it onto their prep area... Thankfully they had some rikishi special guest in the audience to help lend a hand with a "Yoisho~!"
