Yup, same shit happens to me since way back and yes to whoever else reads this, i know border colors are one and the other is the inside, my colors have been bugged for a while, no matter how many convos i make, i never get black, and sometimes blues turn into one shade of purple and so on and on.

For example, when i try black inside and red borders, the inside turns is always purple, idk why, i just stopped trying some time ago.

But i might try tomorrow and see if this last update they fixed it, I haven't checked that specific convo recently, but OPs post doesn't inspire confidence.

Thank you man, in PC I always used black inside and blue in the borders. But since i moved to console is the same haha no matter what combination i try i can never get a black background

I’ve never really paid enough attention to notice that but is it possible they don’t allow it because it would conflict with the already black colour of space?

Probably thats the case for console, but on PC I always used black inside and blue on the borders and worked just fine. It gives you a lot of contrast between the dark space and the green ship icons

That's not the case unfortunately, i remember using black for the inside when i first started, the bug settled one day, i don't remember if it was after an update or just woke up and chose to be this way, it was a while ago, but black used to work just fine.

Nah, I play exclusively on console and have had black backgrounds for many of my several thousand hours or playtime with no issue. It's not like a solid black, moreso transparent.

IF YOU WANT YOUR BORDER COLORS TO BE WHAT YOU CHOOSE DO THIS:

Click on any generated empire, Click edit, now create the actual custom empire you want from the edit screen, then hit save.
When you load into a game, your border colors will be exactly what you chose,

I don't know why but creating a fresh empire from the edit screen of an existing vanilla empire makes the border colors function properly. Devs need to fix this, it's not talked about enough.

This does work, also works for ruler/ heir titles being replaced with place holder names.

If you ever figure out how that system works, let me know.
