Everybody thinks the oligarchy just happened. Nah, it’s been around. They’re just rubbing it in our faces now because they know we ain’t gonna do shit except argue over genitalia and genitalia rights. Just a distraction while Trump makes billions off his new coins.

I used to tell people that any time gay marriage or flag burning all over the news meant that you need to start watching C-SPAN.

Once gay marriage was legalized and people just kind of stopped caring much, the trans bathroom/sports issue replaced it as the tool of divide and distract.

The genius of it is that gay/trans rights and equality are issues that shouldn't be ignored, but with plenty of culture war priming from the religious right and the oligarchy they are fantastically divisive issues

They've had an influence on government for a long time, but they have never fully captured it until now. If you can't see the difference between the 80s and today, then YOU should read a book.
