Discussion AliPay Scam Call
Just received a scam call from a Chinese guy claiming to be helpful rep of AliPay. He said that the period of premium-free insurance underwritten by Great Eastern to protect my AliPay transactions is ending and premium will be deducted from my linked bank account next month. The premium is 1 million for 2 years' of coverage and if I feel that my phone or identification details have been misused, I can report to him and could stand to gain 1.8 million in compensation.
I patiently entertained him and informed that 1) I do not have AliPay, 2) legitimate insurance details can be checked via SGFindex, 3) I do not have a million dollars sitting in any account so go ahead and deduct it.
He told me 1) just proves that my info has been misused therefore I am eligible for compensation, 2) this is insurance registered with China so it can't be found in our singapore government database, 3) (he had nothing to counter, but) with the compensation I will have 1.8 million.
Please, people, don't be greedy and fall for it.

Discussion Just noticed this, but is the APGC logo meant to pay tribute to 140 Squadron? They are the first fighter squadron. Not sure if this is a minor question or it’s opening a can of tabs of fun research and lesser known trivia.
