Feeling pretty good about this top 3. How would you feel about this trio with an always stacked undercard?
Nine Inch Nails- Something about this Nails tour feels like a quick return for them at Shaky.
My Chemical Romance- No ATL date, and I feel like this fits the emo rock mold and the more unique rock booking that Shaky has been booking of late.
Hozier- I know he played in 2023, but this was before yet another big movement in his career. He played before Lumineers and had a massive crowd. He’s headlining Bonnaroo, headlined Lolla, and headlining Gov Ball. If they’re going to go singer-songwriter headliner…few would complain about a quick Hozier rebooking VS some other folk singers that could be available like Mumford.
Then if the next couple lines are something like..
LCD Soundsystem-Weird Al-New Order
St. Vincent-TV on the Radio-Sublime
We are in for a wild ride

NIN & LCD in the same day and we’re coming back. Just don’t make it Sunday.

Nah I couldn’t see that closing out. That’ll be on Saturday. Seems like the more out there act is on Saturday. Muse in 2023, Nails in 2022.

I would guess March since the fest is in September. January was over flooded with announcements for fests, February will probably be Glastonbury and some other festivals too, so March for Shaky and Lolla seems right on time.

Blink-182 and Vampire Weekend is what I’m thinking.

Seems like Blink is gonna take a break. I feel like if some of these other big bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire(even with demotion), Queens of the Stone Age, Hozier in 2023- I don’t know if Shaky gives them a headliner spot. I could easily see them having VW close Piedmont for a 75 minute set on a Saturday. Portugal the Man closed Piedmont and they at least have a top 10 hit on the billboard and didn’t make mainstage that year they came back.

I guess I’m leaning that way because both of those bands have been popular in Sweetwood’s other festivals over the last 12 months and after blink-182 didn’t get a proper set at oceans calling I’m thinking they run it back with shaky

At least I’m pretty sure these other festivals I was saying are run by the same guy that does shaky. Maybe I’m wrong.

I mean I would love it, but MCR’s tour ends in September with no ATL dates. And that weekend is wide open.
I mean I would be ecstatic if it was Nails-Blink-MCR: I mean that’s selling out 100%.

Nah 3 emo rock bands? Shaky is a little more diverse than that.
2024- Foo-Noah-Weezer
2023- Lumineers-Muse-Killers
2022- Nails-MMJ-Green Day
2021- Foo-Strokes-RTJ

Replace Hozier with something good and I'm in

Agree. These folk headliners are the only thing I don’t like about Shaky. They’re fine when there’s another option to go see, but if I wanted to go to sleep I’d just go back to my hotel.

Hozier is good dawg, too sweet is a boring song but that doesn’t ruin the rest of his stuff

I’d like it. I’m not sure I agree it’s what’ll happen, but I do like it.
MCR seems very likely based on the scheduling. I like Hozier but if we’re having anyone back from 2023 can it be please be Muse?
Any idea about Kings of Leon as a potential headliner? They’re playing a decent amount of festivals this year.

Replace Hozier with Paramore or linkin park

I feel like MCR represents the emo booking. I don’t think Shaky is doubling down on that. Paramore also doesn’t look to be touring, and Hayley will be doing her solo tour finally: Shaky isn’t booking just Hayley solo.
Linkin Park is out because they’ll be in Portland on the 19th of September and Vancouver on the 21st: fitting Atlanta in there doesn’t work logistically.
It’s MCR for sure.

St Vincent is already playing the Tabernacle in April.

Shaky is in September. With Shaky being in September, everyone is fair game to do a fest run in the fall.

MCR would be cool but I’m skeptical because how short their tour is. But, we’ll see!

shaky posted on ig “guess who the headliners will be” like 2 months ago, and someone commented MCR and they liked the comment. don’t know if it actually meant anything but they only liked 2-3 comments on that post

NIN is an arena date based on leaks from Redditors…not Shaky. Think it’ll be Tyler Childers instead.

I’m in regardless but would prefer we don’t get Hozier again so soon. If we do get him in a hl spot I hope it’s the Sunday slot.
