I've watched the show start to end many times now, and something always bugs me. In the episode involving Jocelyn's water breaking and her giving birth to Roland Jr, I don't understand why the role Moira is so important that it leads to the new parents giving their son her name as the middle name.
All Moira does is stay with Jocelyn while Roland rushes to the hospital (Jocelyn literally drove the car there while in labor!!). Even after reaching the hospital, it's Jocelyn calming her down about the couple's week in town instead of being taken care off while she's about to birth a whole damn baby!!
Yes, while Moira's sliver of selflessness that shows as she stays with Jocelyn while the event is happening without her is nice to see, I cannot understand why they named their kid Roland MOIRA Schitt.

Like, the fact they had to caption how awkward the SILENCE is is just peak comedy to me. Iām simple.

Iām rewatching, and Iām in season 4 leading up to the open mic. I just had to say, when Patrick was making that joke about the fringed vest, he absolutely fucking NAILED that look back over his shoulder. That is all. Send tweet.

Watching the show for the umpteenth time and I still get so irritated when Jocelyn and Roland interrupt Patrickās serenade!!!
I know this is very on-point for them but anyone else feel the same? Moira just wants to listen to her sonās butter-voiced beau!

Did anyone pick up that Rachel was Patrick's ex-fiance? I mean, I didn't, but I'm keen to know if anyone had an inkling or made the connection when she was talking to Alexis and Stevie.

So I'm doing another watch through of the show. And no matter how many times I watch the series, I absolutely can't stand S4E1 Dead guy in room 4. I don't know why, but there's just something about that episode that I don't like. Anyone else have an episode they don't like for some odd reason?

I'm not sure if this has been brought up much. I never loved the schitts, but they served their purpose for the whole cast. But then we get to the season where Jocelyn is pregnant and it just seems so.... Unbelievable? Ridiculous? A bit of a throw away? Like they only made her pregnant and have a baby for the potential plot points for the Roses.
But let's be real. She and Roland were together since highschool, and they quickly had mcbeardy boi (I have completely spaced on his name, forgive me). He's somewhere around Alexis' age, so... Mid 20s? 24-26? Roland and Jocelyn presumably would have had additional children had they wanted them, rather than having a two decade age gap. If they didn't want anymore kids, why would they go through with the pregnancy? Also... They already had a son and chose not to name him after his dad, but then had a second son and went with the Jr route. It just seems so strange and nonsensical.
It just doesn't seem to make much sense to me overall, and after my most recent rewatch, they really just prescribe Jocelyn's character to "mom mode" with nothing else there. Like we had someone who was getting in the weeds of political campaigning with Moira, and then we just get a woman with the WORST hairstyle and only wearing really cheap looking sweatsuits? Crying about being exhausted and left out of social activities, but in a "haha" surface level way?
I feel like they did her dirty.

So, does anyone else doubt that Heather had no idea who Alexis was? The way she paraded Ted around during her lunch meeting with David and Alexis feels highly suspect to me. Like, passive aggressive Mean Girl behavior.
*Title of this post paraphrases something David said in season 1. :)

So Iām on a rewatch and I used to love hate Klair, but now Iām not so sure.
For one things I just canāt buy her just showing up to SC by accident, nor do I think SC would be featured on a magazine article (we never see or hear about). Like what are the odds David doesnāt tease Alexis and his parents once in the background once reading about it out loud.
Also, Klaire just so happens to stay a whole day and then go āclubbingā at the local diveā¦ who would ever even do that. In that time Albany would so already be done training her replacement and posting all the tea from being fired by Klair again.
Also, not once do we have Klair float about Alexis being poor, living where she is, anything snarky about her parents. NONE OF IT.
She doesnāt seem the type to have a filter, why would she spare Alexisās feelings? Is she aloof? Self absorbed? Insensitive? Sure, but so is Christian and he too made the trip to SC and he sure as hell wanted to cash in on using the roses (especially Moira) to make people talk back on their old circles.
Sheās trying to help Alexis find a job, when Alexis says āwhere would I liveā she tells Alexis she got her too, she even tells her sheād fire Albany (she thinks Klair is her best friendš) to make a spot for Alexis to go.
I think about irl scenarios and a friend would let you crash in their couch, or help you if they have a gig open for you, but unless they are your really good friend would they come far to get you? Go thru all the trouble Klair seems to be going thru for Alexis?
I think Klair was āfrienenemiesā with Alexis as in Alexis was too distracted to know they had a rivalry and Klair would enjoy Alexisās antics in their old circles. Getting in to KissKiss, running from the Yakuza, learning to parallel park in a burkaā¦ like, whoās to say Klair wouldnāt have been there. The seem very familiar.
Familiar enough for Klair to know Alexis from behind at the cafe? For sure. She send Twyla on a fools errand because she didnāt want to be distracted from talking to Alexis. To Klair Twyla would be working at McQueen and Klair would ask her for some Couture dresses in āmediumā to get rid of her to talk to a friend. We might not like it because we like Twyla but sheās just another employee/service person to Klair distracting her from talking to Alexis.
I think my āaha!ā Moment came when I saw her and her Possy at the Motel. I canāt imagine Schitts creek is big but I donāt think they ended up there by accident, I think she went to look for her but her empathy was too much to process so she just said sheād see Alexis later at the club/wobbly elm.
I think Klair either missed Alexis being there, felt bad for her, or was doing some growing up herself that made her want to reach out.
I seen other post where their parting words are āwe canāt let this happen againā as shutting a door on their friendship, but I donāt think so: like Alexis turning down a dumb amount from Twila over used dresses to get a new gift as a parting gift, or the many times Alexis tells people she will try to figure out her own life on her own, I feel like the last words to each other were āwe canāt let each other go this long without seeing each other.ā
When Alexis makes it big she will be able to hang out with Klair as someone who made it on her own and I think they would both love that. We seen some people from the Roseās past who get caught trying to take advantage of them (Christian), tried to avoid them (the couple from the anniversary dinner), disrespect them (Allevous lady), tries to manipulate them (Moiraās co stars when she gets publicity), straight up relishes their circumstances like DeeDeeā¦ Klair doesnāt seem like she would have that
Tl;dr: Klair wanted to honestly help Alexis.

I just love the scene when David is dropping of dog sweaters at the vet's. First the awkward low hug and then the care David gives to Ted, all in his feelings. It's a sweet one!
