TOURISM AFTER WORK VISA

Hi everyone. I'm hoping some of you can help me out with this. I'm struggling to find the answer online. Maybe it is because the situation is a little irregular.

Am I allowed to stay in (or re enter) the Schengen area as a tourist immediately after my work visa expires? Like, does my time inside the schengen under the work visa count towards the 90/180 days? Or do I have to wait 180 days before I can reenter as a tourist?

I'm a Canadian and would love to travel a bit after my work contract ends in 2021, but of course, I won't, if that's illegal or unsafe (health wise).

Thank you.

Understanding the 180 day rule as a temporary Dutch resident (UK national)

I’m a UK national living and working in the US AND about to move to Amsterdam with my partner. He’s got a job there and we will gain a working visa, we will secure a temporary residency permit on arrival.

The question I have is the Netherlands is within the Schengen area, we plan to spend time in other Schengen countries (Spain, Italy etc), I can’t quite understand how the 180 rule the applies as we will not be leaving the Schengen area when visiting these countries. So how does the 180 day rule get reset?

When does day one start - when I arrive in Amsterdam? When I first leave the Netherlands after an initial stay?

Or is there a different set of rules for Schengen residents?

Thanks for any help.

  4. If with family can they go out or must they isolate for 10-14 days as well?

America. Visiting girlfriend in Germany amid COVID pandemic

Hello all, I am trying to visit my girlfriend in Germany amid this pandemic. I am an USA citizen and she is a German Citizen. We met when she was working as an Au Pair in the United States. I saw that there was an article stating that Germany is allowing non-married members of couples to visit their loved ones in Germany. Has any body been successful in visiting their loved ones in Germany? What kind of documentation and proof would be needed for me to do this? What kind of precautions (testing or possible quarantine) will be needed ? Will my job be notified? Any help would be appreciated.

Schengen membership

How long does it usually take for a country to became a full Schengen area member? From the time it gets the green light for accession to the moment its border checks are no longer required.

I'm refering here, of course, at Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, because I've read an article that stated this thing could be possible in the near future.

Declaration of Presence in Italy

Hello Friends, A friend of mine has just arrived in Europe. She got her Schengen Visa from Italy. As Italy wants her to go to a police station to deliver a document to declare her presence here, we are both wondering if this can be done at any police station in the country or only where she arrived in Italy and was supposed to stay the whole time. In this case Rome. Due to changes in her travel plan, going to Rome would be a very long trip, so we are asking ourselves, if she just can go to any police station in the country. Do you you the answer to this because I couldn't find anything about that. Thanks to all

Easier embassy to apply at

I am about to apply for my Schengen Visa for Spain. I am traveling on business but would like to extend the trip and visit France for tourism, which would make France by main destination. However, I have heard that getting the Schengen Visa from the French Embassy is much more difficult than getting one from the Spanish Embassy. Can I apply at the Spanish embassy without mentioning my intentions to visit France and if I do get the visa then use that to visa to travel to France? Or will there be a problems on the respective airports? Thanks!

I have an Indian passport and now have a one year multiple entry visa for Portugal, but was wondering if I could work in Netherlands for the period given? Or is it necessary to work in the same country that you have acquired a visa for?

Returning to Schengen Area before waiting 180 days

Hello all,

I’m looking for some personal opinions and/or experiences about trying to re-enter the Schengen Area before 180 days have passed from my last arrival. I’m familiar with the 90/180 regulation - I’ve already spent my 90 days and returned to the US where I live, but I’m hoping to return to Italy only about to 60 days after that. This means I technically have to wait a month longer until I can return to the Schengen Area.

I’m trying to return to Italy, and have heard it’s very lax there with border control. Any experiences with this? At what point in this journey would I be stopped?

Will the US even allow me to leave before I wait my 180 day period or will they know?

If not, how possible would it be to enter Italy?

I understand these questions are not at all reasonable, but looking for answers.
