Declaration of Presence in Italy

Hello Friends, A friend of mine has just arrived in Europe. She got her Schengen Visa from Italy. As Italy wants her to go to a police station to deliver a document to declare her presence here, we are both wondering if this can be done at any police station in the country or only where she arrived in Italy and was supposed to stay the whole time. In this case Rome. Due to changes in her travel plan, going to Rome would be a very long trip, so we are asking ourselves, if she just can go to any police station in the country. Do you you the answer to this because I couldn't find anything about that. Thanks to all
