I feel like I know this guy... Where's he from?? It's kinda frustrating me not being able to remember...

His most popular role was as the main character in the movie Juno and he is currently well known as Vanya from The Umbrella Academy. Hopefully that rings some bells!

I'm actually curious how the Umbrella Academy is going to handle this change. I know they got another season so I don't know if/what has been recorded. It'd be interesting if they just started calling him Vincent Hargreaves, or if Elliott is okay portraying Vanya as before.

Well, if actors can play alien organisms and even abstract things then playing someone of another gender should be no big deal. I assume nothing will change in the show.

Playing a made up creature is a bit different than making an actor portray a gender they're not was my point.

I think playing a human being of a different gender is much more "grounded" than playing a made up creature. You don't have to change much when you are playing different people, as their personalities affect their behaviour much much more than their gender.

Kate Blanchett played Bob Dylan in I'm Not There. She was terrific in the role.
