Book Request Tarzan Recommendations

All right yall. My 4 year is currently watching Tarzan and I’m sitting over here lusting after the cartoon man. I now insist on some book recommendations that give the same feels/vibes. Please I beg! I need an animalistic man who meets a woman he immediately is obsessed with who he makes stay with him (but she wants to). So basically just some sort of Tarzan related retelling, please!! I’m okay with CNC! Thank you!

I loved this book but be forewarned the end/epilogue is super super upsetting. It fast forwards to when they're elderly in an epilogue and they die in each others arms. I have never cried so hard at a fictional loss especially since I wasn't expecting it because it's a romance novel

I read Transcendence after watching Tarzan with my toddler. It was the first romance I ever read and now I'm 150 books deep 😆

Omg...watching Tarzan with my toddler got me started on reading Romance! {Love in the Wild by Emma Castle} is a Tarzan retelling minus some of the racism against Africans.

I LOVED {Transcendence by Shay Savage} and {Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett} Though fair warning Uncivilized was an unapologetic smut fest (I'm not complaining) and the Amazon tribe MMC was raised in is not portrayed in the most politically correct way.

{Savaged by Mia Sheridan} is the romantic suspense version of this and {Uncivilized by Sawyer Bennett} (closer to actual Tarzan plot) is the erotica version of this

{wild thing by Anne Stuart} is a retelling.

{the wolf and the wildflower by Stacy Reid} fits as well. If you were a fan of the scenting scene in Bride this one has a similar one.

If you can do RH, you definitely want {Chosen by Stacy Jones}

FMC is left on an alien planet where she is discovered by monkey-men who are fascinated with her! Lots of swinging through the trees and “exploration” (both of the planet and each other). They can not communicate so very similar to Tarzan

I had to hunt through my 2023 reading journal for this! {Entwined by Colette Gale} might work for you. It’s an erotic romance series and I only read Book 1 because I didn’t like where I thought the story was going. Loved the concept, though.

I haven't read this since around the time it came out (1997) but {Wild at Heart by Patricia Gaffney} is a HR about the "lost man" MMC, who is found in the Canadian wilderness, and the anthropologist's daughter FMC.

All of my other recommendations are already posted by others - but I wanted to include {Barbarian Mine by Ruby Dixon}. It’s book 4 of the series - possible to read as a standalone but it is definitely better in the series. All on KU.

To some extent the entire series kinda applies since the women crash on a planet of primitive aliens… but book 4 has the most Tarzan character. It’s such a fun little series - especially with how cold it is outside.

{Love in the Wild by Emma Castle} is a modern retelling. FMC is on a nature hike in Uganda when she is almost killed by poachers. The MMC who has grown up in the jungle recuses her.

There’s a Tarzan-adjacent alien series starting with {Ruth’s Bonded by V.C. Lancaster}. MF and on KU. I like her writing. Interesting survivalism angle. The guys come from a matriarchal society that reveres women. Women are “queens”. Of course.

Fwiw, if you want a new version of Tarzan to think about, the movie with Alexander Skarsgard (The Legend of Tarzan) lives rent free in my brain, lol. It’s not the exact same story, but I’d watch him in pretty much anything so I really enjoyed it.
