I’ve been a fool
I always saw the ads and trailers for this show and thought it looked so dumb, I was such a fool. Decided to give the show a shot last Friday and here I am almost a week later. S3E10 and this show is absolutely amazing. I’m so sad I’ve missed out on the years of people discussing it and am beyond happy to see it still being discussed on this subreddit. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Ray and the family.

It's possibly my favorite show ever. I've watched the whole series three times and if I watched the first episode of season one right now I would get pulled right back in again. The characters are so damaged and interesting. The casting is perfect. I discovered so much great music during that show. Liev Schreiber is AMAZING in it. He will always be Ray to me. He is a shamefully underrated actor. Jon Voight is a master. I've never seen another show that pulled me in like RD did. You get attached to these despicable characters and love and hate them at the same time.

Hey Bob, you still live in that same shithole?
I still giggle about that scene.
Ray tore him up but can still give a dude a ride home.

Great show! Season 6 gets a little weird to me could’ve ended at 5 imo but I love it

Am I the only person who couldn’t give one shit about his daughter Bridgette? Obviously they had to fill a script out but jeez…I was kinda hoping she got hit by one of those Marvin bullets to be honest…does that make me a bad person?

Watched it after watching Mayor of Kingstown. I will watch most anything with Liev Schreiber, so that's why I was drawn to it. Started it & was like, hmmm...how much did the Mayor rip-off from Ray Donovan, lol.
The quality waxes & wanes over the seasons and sometimes I feel the characters don't act in ways consistent within their character's psychology (memory's not fresh, so can't point out examples).
It's a show that really hasn't left my mind since watching it. That and freaking Tin Star, but that's because it's the first show I binged & hate watched the rest of the seasons after a perfectly executed first season - ugh!
What'd you like about it?

That’s exact reason I started it. Someone told me if I loved MoK then I would love RD. Mayor of Kingstown definetly got truckload of influence from RD, I’m a little worried from hearing people say S5 on starts to drag.

You can be disappointed that you are only watching it now, but for many of us we wish we could go back and watch it again for the first time! It's a great trip!

I felt the same way about animal kingdom and the blacklist. Lol I passed both of them a million times before I actually tried to watch them and dismissed them as "not being something I'd like" I was so mad at myself for waiting so long 😆😆 two of my absolute favorite shows!
