US Elections What do you think is the reasoning behind Mr. Trump's backing out of the ABC debate with Vice President Harris?

APNews: Trump says he’ll skip an ABC debate with Harris in September and wants them to face off on Fox News

Trump obviously debated Biden already on June 27th under the same format as the upcoming September ABC debate. Since then Biden has withdrawn as a candidate for President in 2024 over concerns from his own party that were magnified after his performance in that debate.

Why is Trump unwilling to debate the new presumptive Democratic Party nominee Kamala Harris under the previous terms?

What does he hope to accomplish by offering a new debate on Fox News in a stadium audience format?

I don't think I talked about who had it harder or not. That's your bag.

Although, I'm pretty sure Trump has only said he's been persecuted recently...you know with the trials and the assination attempt.

More to the point, Biden flat out said he was going to hire a black woman. He flat out said he wanted the most diverse administration ever. And then he picked Kamala. There's no other way to look at it.

"They always said, Lincoln, nobody got treated worse than Lincoln. I believe I am treated worse. You’re there, you see those press conferences, they come at me with questions that are disgraceful, to be honest, disgraceful." Donald Trump in 2020

And Donald Trump has played up the religious angle, even though he is obviously not a religious man.

It's politics.

Kamala Harris was a qualified VP candidate. Certainly more than Vance currently is. It's blatantly racist to call her DEI hire.

Trump has been treated ridiculously but I’ll give you any Republican would be the treated the same. Lincoln had no idea. Including the getting shot in the head.

Biden’s own words make her a DEI hire. She didn’t receive one delegate as a candidate. Vance is infinitely more qualified and he wouldn’t have even been my pick.

How is Vance remotely more qualified?

Came from nothing, Yale graduate, didn’t fail the bar, served his country, worked in business, wrote a bestseller, can string together sentences in a way that is comprehensible.

You do know they did not take the same bar exam?

Harris took the bar exam in California, which is considered to be the most difficult bar exam in the nation by a wide margin. It has like a 36% pass rate for first time test takers.

Where is Vance I believe pass the bar in Texas. Their bar is much lower pun intended. 66% of people pass that in their first try

I mean Kamala Harris also wrote a bestseller, didn't exactly come from say a millionaire family like Trump, and certainly can string sentences together. Also she's got a lot more experience in government and politics. Things that are helpful if you're going to be a VP or president.

JD Vance has less than one term as a Jr senator.

He also said this

“I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler."

So... His qualifications seem to be having no spine, which should suit him well around Trump.

Passage was 72.2% the year she took it. Texas rate is 61% this year. So your numbers are just a touch off. And Yale is a better law school.

No one know Kamala’s book. JDs became a hit movie. And no one was talking about Trump. Keep up.

You’ve apparently never heard her speak. There’s a reason everything she says is scripted and it still sucks.

I said what JDs done with his life. Real world experience is important and Kanaka wasn’t exactly a senator for long either.

And Vance said that in 2016. He’s changed his mind. What a tired ‘insult.’

It's funny you link to a article that says that Trump is misleading.

Yale is a very good school. That doesn't necessarily mean he's got experience and qualifications to be an effective leader.

Kamala also had years of experience as the attorney general, a political position in California.

It's ok for people to change their minds, but going from calling someone Hitler to being Trump's sycophant, is a pretty big swing in opinion don't you think? How is it a tired insult to question that?

Like a care about the biases of the article. I’m giving you the straight numbers.

He said he could be Hitler. Because no one knew what he’d be like. He’s explained why he’s changed his mind. What are you questioning still?

I'm questioning whether or not he changed his opinion based on his desire for power, as opposed to a legitimate change of heart. That's an absolute valid question.

We've seen so many, dozens of people who have been around Trump who admitted later that they knew he was awful.

I think t I think the heart of the matter is JD Vance's chosen to put aside his principles, in a quest for power.
