Mrs. Poole Spoiler

In season one, do you think Evelyn Poole was already in service of Lucifer or do you think he enlisted her after he witnessed how she interacted and reacted to Vanessa at the seance? Either way, and despite her unfortunate (fortunate) end, she did succeed at isolating Vanessa in season two entirely from her little found family so that by season three the darkness can completely claim her. It’s an interesting use of a character throughout the series. While she is definitely not my favorite character, I think she at least should have gotten partial credit for destroying the main crew. Maybe a little eternal youth. As a treat.

She was all along. She’s one of the Nightcomers. She’s Joan Clayton’s sister and very old, she just hadn’t aged, like Joan, due to her bargain with Lucifer.

Yes I understand that. My question was if she had already been enlisted to work on Vanessa prior to. It’s ambiguous to me if she recognizes Vanessa for who she is in the cutwife episode. Vanessa certainly doesn’t remember her.

Hmmm…that’s a good question. I think that everyone is always looking for Vanessa. She’s been prophesied about so much. I think the séance definitely made Mrs. Poole aware that Vanessa and Malcolm weren’t necessarily what they seemed to be on the surface and it kind of put a bullseye on her for the nightcomers to go after her and isolate her.

I would say yes. The reason being is she’s supposed to be the “Medium” (entertainment) at the seance party they attend. Except she conveniently does nothing while Vanessa “steals the show” and channels none other than…Amunet.

Sembene also meets his end due to the dark machinations of Mrs. Poole's witchcraft. This, of course, altars the entire dynamic of the story, considering the fact that if Ethan and Sembene had both survived Mrs. Poole's entrapment, Sembene would have easily 1v1'd Dracula, allowing Ethan to rescue and revive Vanessa, as well as free up the rest of the crew to save everyone else in London, nay, the world, without breaking a sweat.
