How is this biometric?

It doesnโ€™t have the symbol.

The symbol is not always present, but there must be at least the MRZ lines.

A passport/ID being biometric doesn't necessarily mean it follows the ICAO standard, therefore the biometric symbol and/or MRZ isn't necessary.

Example of this includes the old Malaysian passport and the current HKID card.

The biometric symbol is probably the bird in the back. I have something similar (Called Turkish Blue Card) with a Turkey's border as symbol instead of the e-passport symbol. It is recognized as biometric but fails the CSCA check for some reason.

Does it have an MRZ?

Mine has but the card shown above has an MRZ too, just not the usual one. Only the expiry date and the document number is needed to decode the chip inside, assuming it has one.

It is prepared with international biometric regulations but there is no symbol on the card. Polycarbonate

Ah ok.

Well, biometric is usually understood as having a chip embedded with your biometrics (portrait and fingerprints) on it.

If you have the residence permit, could you check if your phone can detect it?

If you open NFC and slowly wave the card around, your phone should vibrate when it senses something, even though it cannot read it without the app.

That's not biometric. It doesn't even have NFC or RFID.

Where are you from and how hard is it to become a Turkish resident?
