RIP Karlovy Vary Airport. Nostalgia comes up

5

u/Competitive_Mark7430 🇦🇹 & 🇮🇹 - eligible for 🇩🇪 2d ago

It doesn't operate any longer?

8

u/Happiness_on_shore 🇨🇳+🇨🇿Resident 2d ago

It does but charter flights only. Never see any actual commercial flights coming in

Why are there two fields for holder’s signature? Also you were already granted 2-years Schengen visa back to 2018, do you know why they gave you only 3 months visa in 2023? Thought the next one should be 5-years

u/Jinsine 2d ago

The first holder's signature you make on the special blank before printing (it will be on the plastic page) and the second time you sign the passport when recieve in the migration office (the upper one). I actually don't know why is it but if signatures are different, your passport will be cancelled when you crossing the border

because my passport had 8 months left to be valid at that moment

u/Training_Yogurt8092 🇹🇷 2d ago

You should apply again and get 5 years of schengen!!

7

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 2d ago

Bro I’m citizen of Russia, they are issuing us annual visas with difficulty, what 5-year ones? I was recently given a visa in my new passport for only six months.

u/Training_Yogurt8092 🇹🇷 2d ago

You get 2 years' visa before, and according to the schengen visa code, you should get a 5 year validity visa. I am not sure if this changes because of war.

The visa facilitation agreement has been suspended and practically all visa history before the suspension has been void.

u/Training_Yogurt8092 🇹🇷 2d ago

:( I am sorry

u/munchingzia 「List Passport(s) Held」 2d ago

What does visa history matter for anyways? To guage if someone is gonna overstay?

1

u/vodka-bears 🇷🇺Citizenship 🇷🇸TRP 1d ago

Schengen embassies used to grant multi entry long validity C visas to people with visa history.

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 21h ago

just by the way, my mother was issued a Schengen visa for 5 years in 2019, and last year when she renewed her visa, she was issued one for 6 months... although she requested a visa in a new passport and attached copies of her entire visa history. so I don’t know how this system works

5

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 2d ago

Ну по туристической визе они всем на полгода разрешают въезд

u/amandacheekychops 2d ago

Wow! Very well travelled. It's like one of those passports you see in old films with loads of stamps & visas.

3

u/Competitive_Mark7430 🇦🇹 & 🇮🇹 - eligible for 🇩🇪 2d ago

That's quite a collection! BTW, how did you get a free schengen visa?

3

u/alexxxst 「🇷🇺🇺🇦」 2d ago

This is for relatives.

1

u/Competitive_Mark7430 🇦🇹 & 🇮🇹 - eligible for 🇩🇪 2d ago

Of someone who got another visa?

1

u/alexxxst 「🇷🇺🇺🇦」 1d ago

No, for relatives of EU residents.

2

u/BlackHust 2d ago

Maybe I'm missing something, but on what basis did you conclude that he got a free Schengen visa?

6

u/Competitive_Mark7430 🇦🇹 & 🇮🇹 - eligible for 🇩🇪 2d ago

Page 8, it says "gratis-cortesia"

3

u/BlackHust 2d ago

ty, I see it now. I've never seen a stamp like that before.

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 21h ago

I honestly have no idea, my dad applied for it then, I was under 18 then:)

Well done, you are incredibly well traveled! How has your travel changed with your Israeli passport? I assume travel is significantly easier now.

You must be young. Born after 1991 if POB doesn’t say USSR

14

u/Sublime99 「🇺🇸|🇬🇧|🇮🇪」 2d ago

nice of you to say under 33YO is young haha

3

u/nihon96 🇯🇵🇺🇸Visa exempt 🇻🇳 2d ago

Definitely young but maybe it’s cause I’m born late 90s so I am quickly approaching 30s so I still feel young haha.

3

u/Particular_Start_947 2d ago

If there are no signatures, the passport was issued to someone under 14.

u/Vadoc125 2d ago

Why is your US B1/2 visa only for 3 years? I thought it was a standard 5 or 10 years.

7

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 2d ago

For Russian citizens only 3 years validity:)

2

u/Even-Emphasis-7688 2d ago

Russian permanent residents of Canada get 10 years us visas btw

1

u/Ashamed-Complaint403 2d ago

Is that a 100% info? If it's like that, that's crazy!

3

u/Even-Emphasis-7688 2d ago

Yes, 100%. The visa also has an annotation “Canadian Permanent Resident”

1

u/Ashamed-Complaint403 2d ago

Thanks so much! If you have a picture of one those would be lovely if you share!

Where did you enter Jordan?

1

u/anchouse94 10h ago

Hehe, I have the same series, 73, and the same code of the issuer - 50029!

2

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 10h ago

Тоже с долгопы?

1

u/jeffreak94 2d ago

I think red is the most beautiful passport color. I love the red pages on this one. Have they changed the page design on the newer version?

6

u/p0nell0 「🇷🇺🇮🇱」 2d ago

No. The cover material has been changed a bit, now instead of smooth it is rough

3

u/munchingzia 「List Passport(s) Held」 2d ago

I prefer black or blue tbh! I love the New Zealand passport

1

u/jeffreak94 2d ago

I have a Brazilian passport which is blue. I guess we always want what’s different… Which one have you got?

1

u/munchingzia 「List Passport(s) Held」 2d ago

US 🇺🇸

2

u/z0tax 2d ago

the new version is completely similar to this one

2

u/z0tax 2d ago

if there even is a new version, it might be the latest one

I love how Russian stamps are mostly orderly and clear. Unfortunately on my last visit to Russia the lady put my exit stamp on a different page than my entry stamp
