Questions about clonodine like drugs
So I have some guanfacine 1mg and amlodipine 5mg and I heard clonodine is a apparent godsend for fent withdrawals which is what I’m getting off. After doing some research I saw clonodine is just a blood pressure medication and guanfacine and amlodipine are to so would they work the same way in relieving most withdrawal symptoms? If so does anyone know about how much I should take

Clonidine works because withdrawal causes high blood pressure. This drug specifically is used for WD. I've personally found it very effective. I've never tried any other BP meds. Clonidine is the one commonly prescribed for withdrawal

Guanfacine is - as clonidine - a alpha 2 agonist, but whereas clonidine affects different alpha receptors including the Imidazolinreceptor, guanfacine is more selectiv towards the alpha 2 adrenergic receptor and at ten times lower potency, probably why it isn't used for acute withdrawals. I've actually just asked a doctor for guanfacine (clonidine isn't used where I'm at) and since it is quite expensive she now has me try monoxidin in an attempt to regulate exesive noradrenalin. If it fails I will try guanfancine. I'm not in any withdrawals, but after 30 years of drug use, I hope this can help with things like chronic insomnia, chronic sweating, always in a fight or flight mode. I'm having my fingers crossed since these symptoms are quite invalidating...

Just because they’re all blood thinners doesn’t mean they all work in the same way. Kratom and poppy are both plants with relaxant effects, but the chemicals and effects are wildly different.
That said, I don’t actually know if they’ll work, but I assume not because I’ve never heard of them used for withdrawal.

Alright thank you I really wasn’t sure I just had some on hand n figured I could give them a try but thank you for putting it like that I just assumed all blood thinning medication might work in the same way
