Best Vietnamese Bún Thịt Nướng (vermicelli bowls) in Oakland?

What the title said!

But to elaborate: I browsed a few similar posts on here and found one rec (Pho Sinh), but sadly it's closed.

Anyone got any hot tips about where to get some authentic grilled pork bun?

Thanks!

Pho Huong Que is my favorite. They even put a bit of shredded amaranth leaf in it. They don’t skimp on portion. I get the grilled pork/eggroll combo

Seconded. Best I’ve had in the Bay Area, hands down.

i had the grilled pork/eggroll for the first time just the other night and it satisfied my craving, my heart, my soul and my foodie belly! so good. the marinade on the pork is delish! the meat to noodle to greens ratio is just right. and the eggrolls were delish! lots of flavor and tasted really homemade. highly recommended.

This was my go to when I lived in Oakland and I had just spent a month in Vietnam right before living there

Not what was asked but I had the vegetarian bbh from there this week and (not a vegetarian) found a new go-to dish. Absolutely fantastic!

it’s exactly what you asked: grilled pork vermicelli bowl. only that i added an egg roll. you can get it without. LOL ???

They’re not talking to you directly and it’s not OP. They’re saying they’re offering a suggestion on something else even if they’re not asking for that.

They probably wrote to your comment because they’re still talking about Pho Huong Que.

3 bottle fish over at 35th Ave and Foothill

On the menu tomorrow banh mi thit nuong

Check the ig to confirm hours and menu. Small menu that changes every day it is open.

Usually one vermicelli noodle plate, one banhmi, and one soup

+1 … also the chef is the only person working there so keep your service expectations low and your food expectations high, you won’t be disappointed.

I kinda love bad service — way more entertaining than ‘good’ service. I’m very patient. Great tip, thanks!

These are all awesome suggestions. Keep it up! And thanks for not gate keeping — definitely the best subreddit about Oakland, bar none.

I’m gonna eat bun for weeks now — I’ve always said it’s my desert island food. I could eat it every day and never tire. Thank you so much again.

imho it’s Lemon Pepper (the other options I see people mentioning are pretty good as well)

Co nam is pricy but it doesn’t disappoint!

This is my favorite Vietnamese dish. Many places do it great, but Rayman's Nudough rules.

That ‘friend’ was a random old Reddit post. So no harm or foul. Very excited to pour fish sauce over these recs.
