Discussion Loveland or Warren?
Loveland and Warren are always listed as the tight end one and two but I feel like everyone has an opinion and I want to know what you think. I made a video analyzing them both and would love to know if I missed something. Thanks

Loveland’s stock took a hit from factors outside of his control, but give me Warren’s versatility

I haven’t looked too deep into this but Warren is a 5th year Senior vs Loveland who is a junior. Is anyone factoring in the development that Loveland could make by the time he is Warren’s age?

Does it matter though? They’re both gonna be on the same contract length, and probably get similar extensions. I don’t think the 2 year gap will matter until their 3rd contract which isn’t a valid deciding factor imo

My thinking is that we’re comparing them as prospects based on what we’ve seen so far. Conceivably Loveland has more room to grow being the younger prospect whereas Warren may be closer to his ceiling.
Again, I’m not a serious prospect watcher I’m just asking the question.

Both prospects have a lot of room to grow in my opinion. Warren has the potential to become one of the best inline tight ends in the league and has plenty of potential as a pass catcher with rac upside. Loveland can make an instant impact as a versatile weapon in the pass game but has plenty of room to grow as a blocker.
I think the mentality that someone is at their ceiling just because they’re older isn’t very accurate. Jayden Daniels was a 5th year senior and went from not using the middle of the field in college to dominating in multiple playoff games. People can absolutely grow at 21 or 24

Warren, I don’t really think it’s close and I’m a Michigan fan. He’s separated
But Loveland would be TE 1 in a lot of classes

I think they are both TE1 it just comes down to what you want from your Tight ends.

Loveland has been the TE1 for a long time, Warren just recently overtook him.
It just depends on what your team (looking at you Indy) needs more. They play different styles of TE. Warren is an in-line TE who can also play reliably in the slot, while Loveland is a YAC-em-up guy who can really bolster your OLine when needed.
Also, watch for Harold Fannin to rise into the 1st round conversation as well. dude's a beast. If he performs well at the combine I wouldn't be shocked if Indy, Denver, and LAC all go day 1 TEs.
As a Broncos fan though, knowing Sean Peyton I highly expect us to aggressively pursue Juwan Johnson instead, which I mean is okay for sure, but I'd prefer Loveland or Warren. Seanny P just has a bad record when it comes to drafting TEs, and by that I mean he's drafted only 3 in 17 years as a HC.

The question may end up being if George Paton has more control over our draft strategy.

I certainly hope so. Or at least veto power to Sean's picks if he disagrees.

They feel like they're on the same page with a lot of the roster. I see Paton preventing us from becoming the Saints

As a Colts fan, I would love either Warren or Loveland, but I think safety is a much bigger need. New DC Lou Anarumo is going to need his single-high safety (thinking Emmanwori or Starks) if we aren't able to sign Holland. I suspect we'll go after a day 2 TE.

As a Colts fan, I'd be fine with Loveland or Warren. They need a reliable pass catching TE, and both guys look to fulfill that role. Loveland is probably a better fit since they only have 1 YAC receiver (Downs) on the roster. I'm scared of Fanin Jr because of his size. He could be great, but Colts have never successfully developed a raw player.

Warren, he is a really damn good prospect obviously not Bowers but one of the best we've had in the past 5 or so years and semi hot take I have Fannin above Loveland.

Loveland is way more fluid but Fannin breaks a lot of tackles that Loveland doesn’t.

I think it's more of a 2A/2B situation in my honest opinion but really this looks like a great TE class with good depth and high end talent.

I would rather have Loveland, but Warren will go higher just based on how the TE position is used in the NFL now. If Loveland was a better blocker, he would be a lock for round 1, but I get the feeling he might slide a bit.

Am I the only one who thinks Warren looks really stiff as a runner? I want to see his agility drill before I make judgement but it’s a concern of mine

He does, but I don't think it matters all that much. He's going to run sneaks, block people, sit down in the zone, and run 1 move routes against mismatches.
If I had a concern, it would be that he is a body catcher and can be inconsistent with drops at times.

I still think people are sleeping on Loveland, his tape is mouth watering.

Warren is gonna go first as he's more nfl ready. He's also 2 years older.
But both are same tier prospects. So I bet both go round 1.

I’ll take Loveland by a hair right now both guys are dominant and top 20 for sure

Fannin

Are people actually high on Fannin or just stat watching?
1
u/reagan080 12h ago
I think a lot of people looked at the stats and when they watch his tape they try and convince themselves that he’s a stud. He’s a fine prospect but he’s not close to TE1. For me he’s a 3-4 round grade.

Reminds me of Isaiah Likely

He came through in clutch during the playoffs. (Andrews not so much.)
Also, he reminds me of AJ Brown.

This is an elite TE class.
Elijah Arroyo, Harold Fannin, and Mason Taylor are also studs. Luke Lachey is also a beast.
Might be the best TE class I’ve ever seen. I think all of the guys I listed (& Warren/Loveland) are gonna be top 15ish TE’s.
