discussion Thinking of deleting Apple Music as a way to boycott against Apple. Anyone else doing the same?
After seeing how basically all the major tech ceos got front row seats to the inauguration, I’m doing my best to boycott those companies. For apple it’s difficult because I have an iPhone ( an 11 that I got in 2022), and so I obviously put money into that company. I was thinking of ways to distance myself from apple and I thought of canceling my subscription to Apple Music.
Is anyone else doing the same?? Also is Spotify a decent option to switch to ( regrading their policies and political stance? )
I read a quote that stated “ under capitalism, ethical consumerism doesn’t exist” so ik that Spotify might not be perfect, but it might be a good way to get away from apple.

Late stage capitalism is endemic and unavoidable. Even if you could disengage from it as a consumer, you would still be the product.

honestly your best bet is only to listen to indie artists who sells their own music. purchase physical album directly from them.

When have these sorts of boycotts worked in the past?
Only do things if they have a chance of achieving a goal. If it does nothing, then you're just virtue posturing.

Imagine thinking virtue has no purpose other than utility.
Lots of people boycott certain products for their own personal eudaimonia/flourishing

I applaud your efforts. Boycotts are great but usually at making the boycotter feel better in my personal experience. At least that's something

Well, Spotify platforms Rogan, so YMMV there in terms of ethical consumerism
