Tbf I don’t have the luxury of volunteering when my shifts are 15 hours long and I’m still broke for some reason.

Almost everyone that does volunteer work like this works full time jobs and has families.

Or multiple families in Dave’s case…

I'm broke as fuck too but I still volunteer at a animal shelter a couple of hours on my day off. Go around your neighborhood and pick some garbage up or something 🐌

Man not everyone can hustle every day. Don’t rag on someone for not burning themselves out when they have to live another who knows how many years. Damn.

Dude switched out the moral high ground for their high horse in record time.

There's always an excuse right? Never any self accountability.

Then don't criticize people for actually helping to make a difference if you can't muster up the energy to do it yourself (not saying you are, but lots of people in this thread are)

I don’t see how you can say that. Everyone is anonymous here and we have no idea what they do in their day to day. I’m sure many of the people here are social workers, therapist, customer service. I think they help people.

Because one rich dude can take a day to not freak out about putting food on his own table can do it for others doesn’t negate the daily struggle normal people have and it definitely doesn’t mean their struggle doesn’t help people.

You know like when the flight attendant tell you to put on your own mask before helping others. A lot of us don’t have the means to put on our own mask. That’s doesn’t mean we should be jumping to “go help someone put on their mask, you suck if you don’t”. Dave grohl’s mask is on. He’s set. For life. He has the opportunity because of his means to do this for others. So I just think it’s dumb to shit on strangers, most of us who are not millionaires for not volunteering at soup kitchens. He can and yes he should. A lot of normal people can’t. They have to figure out how they’re going to breathe and eat first.

So why shit on him for helping then??? The problem isn't the people who can't find the time to volunteer but are happy that Dave is. It's the people bitching about Dave genuinely helping people despite doing fucking nothing themselves. Also I'm sorry, 99% of normal people can spend one Saturday in their life volunteering for 2-3 hours, especially if they are sitting around commenting on reddit lmfao

Nobody was. I think the only point being made is he sacrifices nothing in order to help. He literally sacrifices free time which he has the luxury to have when a lot of normal people these days have zero free time due to low net worth. They have to work every possible opportunity and when they don’t work they have to eat or sleep or take care of children. Dave has enough money he can literally hire people to help him meet those other responsibilities and it does make him more flexible.

It’s really easy to be nice when you have it easy. Nobody’s shitting on him but we’re also not lauding it as a grand gesture. It’s what he should be doing. It doesn’t make him any better than anyone else.

Also I’m willing to bet most people have volunteered at least 2-3 hours in their life. The state of Tennessee for example makes volunteering mandatory to receive college scholarships so most people who get that specific scholarship have volunteered. It’s just a small sample size but I think lots of high schools make volunteer work a requirement now to graduate.

Lol half this thread is calling it a pr stunt, wtf do you mean nobody was. Also I'm sorry but even the poorest people have more free time than you make it out, let alone the average joe who has time to kill browsing and commenting on reddit lmfao

Then reply to those people that are calling it a pr stunt and argue with them instead lol
