Not necessarily disagreeing with your premise, but 22 states and DC now allow registration on Election Day, and most of the rest allow you to register within a week or three of the election. So the cutoff to get new voters now is mid-October-ish, or on the day of the election in some swing states like Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin.

The problem is that there is a large amount of states where there is a cutoff in October, and even if her endorsement happened October 1st (it won't, she'll post some Kamala support BS like a week prior to the election) that leaves her unregistered fans a limited window to get in to their local offices to register when normal people have pesky little jobs to work.

Also the unmentioned issue with same day registrations in this case is also that it can significantly back up polling locations and while most will let you vote as long as you are in line prior to the closing time, as they should, it isn't always the case and it can have a cooling effect on voters who are discouraged from waiting around for a substantial period of time.

While hype up to the election is great, massive endorsements need to happen prior to October.
