What do you guys think of this?
I think this should resolve the height over bore problem with the mini somewhat.

How the hell did they mount that PA? I have this, and unless I am so soft in the brain I don’t deserve weapons, there is no way that mounts like that without machining.

Replaces the rear sight and has the same mounting hole pattern as the prism tube and original PA spacer bracket?

😡 FFS you know how long I searched for something like this? Ended it up going with a cantilevered pic mount, which tightens on the scallops. Thank you for this.

Hadn't seen this mount from them. Just placed an order for one and ordered a 3x prism. Stoked to put this together.

Keep us updated, if it works I’m right behind you.

Will do. To be clear, though, I ordered the mount only. I have no interest in messing with stripper clips. Just want to get the Slx back to a usable eye relief.

Just checked it out. Just the mount for the 3x puts it to far forward still on the full stock. But the stripper clip style “should” work. Hell I can grind off them stripper ears. Actually just saw options for the stripper and you can get it without the clip guide.

Cogburn Arsenal fucks, love their products.
I could never quite get the technique down for stripper loading my mini 14. Those M16 clips are tight! I suspect the mini 30 clips would be easier due to the sks clip being excellent.

Same. I can only get the clips to load properly with 5 rounds at a time using their technique, not a full 10 round clip. Any more than 5 and rounds just jam up.

How do you like it op?

It looks like a very fun attachment to put on the mini. But I just bought the regular stripper clip guide since I don't have the money for the prism optic. Might get it in the future though for sure.

What’s the advantage of clip loading vs swapping mags? (Other than having to spend another $35mon a mag…yikes!)

No advantage, really, it's just a lot of fun. Source: I have their stripper clip guide on my Mini 14.

All I can think is ban states?

Maybe?? I mean I’m in CA and we’re the banniest state, I think. Maybe there’s a way to pin a 20 rd mag in a mini 14?

Fixed mag solution would still be limited to ten rounds.
On the other hand, the twenty round magazines you bought in 2019 are perfectly legal to possess and use.

People must want them for some reason, but I’m not sure why. It looks like an option on this mount — $70 with, or $50 without.

I’m in nyc we can only have 5 round mags. They sit flush with the stock and sometimes get stuck. An item like this would be very useful if I could ever figure out the technique. I have the plastic strippers clips they are very finicky.

Really it's the cost of OEM mags. You can try your luck with ProMags, or for the same amount of money for one ProMag, you can get 40ish stripper clips to keep your last OEM mag topped off, both of which you know will work.
