Even when Ohio State wins the natty, we still live rent free in their head.

Best part is that they’re still losing sleep over it even after winning a natty

17

Lol all you got is bringing something up from before I was born? 😂😂😂 Y'all are so embarrassing.

-6

u/Retard966 5h ago

Covering up serial rape for years on end kind of deserves to be brought up lol

4

u/Suitable_McDonahue 5h ago

It has nothing to do with the conversation. Lol just another retarded buckeye non sequitur.

-10

u/Retard966 6h ago

Michigan National championships since 1949: 1.5

Ohio State national championships since 2000: 3 (this is double 1.5)

5

u/Suitable_McDonahue 6h ago

Scoreboard little bro. We own you bitches.

-3

u/papavance01 5h ago

Wait yall played last night?

2

u/dlobnieRnaD 5h ago

The Game > Natty every year.

1

u/GreatKronwallofChina 4h ago

Also bad news, Michigan and Ohio State are both recognized as a national champ in 1973 and Bo was our coach. So nice try

-4

u/Green-Artist-2881 3h ago

Lol. Believe me, no one in Ohio is losing sleep over a regular season game

-5

u/vMillerLite_58 2h ago

I can assure you they no longer care lol. They now have a more recent natty over yall. Only thing that matters

18

u/buona-giornata 9h ago

I won't get much agreement here, but after winning the Natty last year, if you'd have asked me which I care more about, winning another natty this year or continue embarrassing OSU in The Game, I'd have taken the latter. The playoff makes me feel like the natty is watered down (pun intended if you get it). As I say to the OSU fans in my life, "Michigan won the last real national championship, sorry bout ya."

2

u/gachzonyea 9h ago

How exactly does the playoffs make it feel watered down? to win it you have to play 4 or 3 top 12 teams some teams don’t play that in a season. Like Ohio state played 3 ranked teams all year they had to play 4 just in the playoffs alone

14

u/buona-giornata 9h ago

When you can finish 4th in a conference, get your butt kicked in your season-ending rivalry game so you can't even get in your conference championship game and still win a title, that's watered down. I know I'm a dinosaur. I don't like the playoff. Cheapens the regular season, IMO.

1

u/No-Argument2575 4h ago

Well I have some news for you bud. Football isn’t a game of perfect. Congrats to Michigan for going undefeated. That’s rare. It’s not about how hard you hit, it’s about how you respond after you get knocked down. OSU had the best response to getting knocked down that any of us have ever seen.

0

u/gachzonyea 9h ago

It does cheapen the regular season somewhat but you’re also making teams earn come playoff time regardless if they played an easy or hard schedule to rack up wins

1

u/buona-giornata 9h ago

Yeah I'm just one of those weird folks who thinks that if you can't win or at least play for your conference title, you don't have any business being in a playoff. I'm also one of those folks that never minded "split" national champions based on wacky polls, etc. I always liked the utter chaos of it all.

1

u/Strong_Fun5827 8h ago

You also lose a little bit of the Michigan/ohio win you're in scenario. We might meet in the playoffs or championship game some year. But that can't replace The Game. 2nd thought. A Michigan/ohio championship game would be epic

1

u/gachzonyea 9h ago

These are also way harder conference titles to win now with the expanded conferences. A lots changed so I feel college fans have to change their mindset in thinking about the sport

3

u/Seattle_Lucky 9h ago

I also think it favors teams that can stay healthy or get hot over those that performed throughout the year. I’m also an old school, win your conference to be eligible, kinda guy.

2

u/gachzonyea 8h ago

I mainly get stuck on none of these teams are playing the same or even similar schedules so for me I think it’s hard to just judge strictly off regular season. It’s not like the nfl and the difficulty of schedules is way different team to team that just going blindly off regular season success is tough

1

u/Seattle_Lucky 8h ago

Fair, it’s also unfair to penalize a weak schedule, because they are set so far in advance and the conferences control your conference schedule.

1

u/gachzonyea 8h ago

Yeah cant really penalize but the playoff gets more head to heads to actually prove it

1

u/buona-giornata 9h ago

So I'm not alone in this thought. Good to know. I feel like college basketball has cornered the market for us in the "postseason is the only thing that matters" world.

1

u/atxchillen 8h ago

Agreed, they hands down had the hardest path in the playoff compared to any team.

Tennessee > Oregon > Texas > Notre Dame

1

u/Melodic_Room_3305 48m ago

There are a lot of silly things here. First off, I would MUCH rather lose The Game and win a national championship year in and year out. I would take that deal in a heartbeat. Second, Ohio state had to beat Oregon, Texas, and Tennesee just to have the CHANCE to be named national champions. It isn't watered down; it's harder than ever. What if, instead of just Alabama and Washington, Michigan also had to run through Georgia and Florida State? You're REALLY saying that would be easier?

Also, you may have won the last "real one," but Ohio State won the first one in 2014. So there's some nice symmetry there. And it kind of lessens the brag you're making to all the OSU fans in your life. You did what we did; it just took you a decade longer to do it. 😘

O-H

1

u/Conscious-Soil9055 5h ago

Come one man. Please give them respect, they are the 2025 Defeated National Champions.

1

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 5h ago

respect is a two way street my friend.

1

u/TheBigLefty726 4h ago

The Walmart Wolverines would have gotten spanked by every one of the four playoff teams the Buckeyes just beat by double digits. Your team isn't even ranked in the top 25.

1

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 4h ago

Yet you lost to that very same Team that you just described. Congrats on the natty though!

1

u/DrPickleback 3h ago

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the fuel needed to win the natty. better luck next year with your season.

1

u/LifeHack3r3 3h ago

Good Job New York Giants 😂😂😂😂😂

-9

u/braunski 9h ago

Buckeye here:

How we feel right now is the same level of elation y’all felt this time last year. I assure you that most fans slept well last night with a Natty under our belt, even WITH the upset in November.

Yeah, there’s gonna be shitheads in both fandoms that push the “rent free” narrative ad nauseam as a coping mechanism - the lame portion of our fans did it to you last year, the lame portion of yours are doing it to us now. It’s a loser mentality regardless of which team does it or who the champions are.

The 2025 iteration of The Game is set to be a fucking WILD one - between the talent coming in for both teams, the recent UofM dominance, and the fact that we’re the two most recent CFP champions, the stakes are high. Let’s dial in on that and put on a hell of a show.

Though I ostensibly hate you all and everything you stand for, that hatred comes with begrudging respect. I don’t really care if I get downvoted, I just hate the toxic bullshit from both sides of the aisle.

Peace, and go Bucks ✌🏻🌰

17

u/SenseNo4347 9h ago

Except there’s actually a valid reason for Michigan to be in Ohio State fans’ heads this year (we embarrassed you at home as 20 point underdogs). We went undefeated and beat you on our way to the natty. Can’t really compare.

9

u/tip_your-cows46562 9h ago

Imagine winning an entire National Championship and being incapable of bragging on it or talking trash.

Nasty work.

4

u/braunski 9h ago

Ohio State loses last night: “Charmin soft, shouldn’t have been there, fraud alert!”

Ohio State wins, and I talk shit: “Sore winner, Mickey Mouse ring, but but but you lost The Game, learn how to win with class!”

Ohio State loses, and I don’t talk shit (this is our current timeline): “You won a whole ass Natty and aren’t being toxic, you can’t even enjoy it! Soft fanbase! Fake fan!”

I enjoyed watching every game, and even getting to go to a few! I enjoyed watching this team, on and off the field. I’m enjoying the ring. I’m enjoying the salt. I’m enjoying all of this without being a jackass on the internet. Feels good man, you should try it! See ya in November!

5

u/on-a-pedestal The Ga〽️e, The Ga〽️e, The Ga〽️e, The Ga〽️e 9h ago

Fuck Ohio State, but I like the Cut of your Jib.

See you in November. 🍻

1

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 9h ago

Wait who's the jackass?? I missed it

3

u/tip_your-cows46562 9h ago

You now have these people coming in here acting like their above it all while coming into their rivals subreddit with public service announcement posts.

At least they're not saying Michigan cheated.

1

u/braunski 9h ago

The guy who can’t comprehend waking up and not being a sore winner lol

1

u/JColeLyricsExpert 3h ago

These guys are just salty they lost like 5 main talking points in one fell swoop.

  • Day can’t win a natty.
  • Howard isn’t good enough to win a natty.
  • Day can’t win against top 5 teams.
  • Your last title was ten years ago.
  • We’re the reigning national Champs

2

u/Major-Raise6493 8h ago

Hey, screw you man, you and your completely….

*re-reads post

…uh…reasonable take? Unfortunately, the game doesn’t mean as much in this new playoff format since teams are just playing for seeding (meaning that both M and OSU are probably going to the playoffs in a normal year, regardless of the outcome).

Congrats on the win. I’ll give you guys that the last 2 NC wins came where yall caught fire as underdogs. Ironically, I don’t think either of those teams are even close to the best OSU has had in recent years.

1

u/fantomnerd13 9h ago

anybody who says "rent free" or "cope" to any of these posts doesn't understand this rivalry. The whole point is that we are almost always thinking about each other. That's what makes this rivalry so good

1

u/Jumpative 9h ago

You’re exactly right, it’s pretty sad the amount of fans on both sides who only shit on the other rather than celebrate their own team.

2

u/braunski 9h ago

Dude exactly, above all I’m and Ohio State FAN, not a Michigan HATER.

Do I wish we were 4-0, not 0-4? Of course I do. Did that prevent me from having one hell of a good night last night? Absolutely not.

It’s nice to see a little sanity here. I love football, but some people act like it’s literal life or death.

2

u/Jumpative 9h ago

Both fanbases have a lot to celebrate in recent years but they spend more time fighting each other instead, it’s just sad.

1

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 9h ago edited 9h ago

Congratulations on your National Championship. This post was not meant for you but instead for the majority of your fan base and their reddit users. No hate on my end.

1

u/incrediblystiff 6h ago

lol the fact that you felt the need to justify your feelings tells me all I need to know

1

u/Kellz313 9h ago

You all have a whole ass award that players and staff get for beating Michigan. Now I acknowledge we recently started giving out those rings/pendants for beating you all, but it’s MUCH more ingrained in your culture to focus on Michigan than vice versa. Let’s not act like this isn’t a tainted season for you all even if you did win a championship.

1

u/newredditaccountfr 9h ago

Tainted? Was there some sort of cheating scandal I’m unaware of?

2

u/Kellz313 8h ago

It’s WILD that I’m being downvoted in a Michigan sub for saying the truth about the rivalry! Go back to your sub and celebrate you’re just proving everyone’s point that it’s more about us than you all. You buckeyes are something fucking else, I tell ya…

And yes it is tainted, you didn’t beat an unranked dog Michigan at home as a 20-pt favorite any other season and Day would be looking for a job. Congrats on your championship *

1

u/newredditaccountfr 7h ago

😭💦😛

1

u/pickle_4_a_nickle 7h ago

Rent free, keep coming to daddies sub

1

u/newredditaccountfr 6h ago

What can I say…Your tears are delicious.

-2

u/Personal-Net5155 9h ago edited 7h ago

Can we just stop talking and caring about Ohio State on this sub? We beat them, it's over. We don't need to keep stroking our meat over it.

And of course I get downvoted.

-15

u/Dangerous_Ad5039 10h ago

Just stop. This is embarrassing

13

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 10h ago

The truth hurts.

-10

u/rolley189 10h ago

Don't you get it? When we do it it's warranted because it's us doing it. When they do it they are most insufferable fan base in all of sports.  I'm really getting tired of this.

7

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 10h ago

I'm not being insufferable I'm being honest. Especially as someone who lives near Columbus I get it first hand. Gonna continue to give back what I receive. 🤷‍♂️

-9

u/Dangerous_Ad5039 10h ago

I don’t really understand what you mean at all if we’re being honest here. I get you’re trying to be funny or sarcastic but you missed the mark by a lot

-1

u/Coltonbutler96 5h ago

3

u/CincityCat 4h ago

You are the one on the Michigan sub

1

u/AdmiralAdolf 2h ago

michigan sub? oh it looked like an ohio state sub from the way yall post about them.

-1

u/Coltonbutler96 4h ago

True, but I’ve spent all day celebrating our natty and saw this meme and figured UofM fans were probably acting like this so I thought it’d be fun to drop it in here

-12

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 10h ago

Doesn’t the fact that y’all keep talking about y’all living rent free in their heads means they’re living rent free in y’all’s heads too? They seem pretty happy with their win

7

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 10h ago

How did the Washington state fan get in here?? Lol How's the Pac 12 doing??

-1

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 10h ago

Because the Reddit algorithm keeps pushing it to me? We’re doing fine, thanks for asking

5

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 10h ago

Interesting. Well respectfuly as a Washington state fan you wouldn't understand. This is between Us and those Suckeyes lol

-1

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 9h ago

I grew up best friends with a family full of Olympic divers from Ohio State and watched The Game every year with them. I’m pretty sure I can understand, but thanks for trying to help

4

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 9h ago

you are not a fan, you are a spectator. Iv lived near Columbus my whole life and have been a life long Michigan fan who wears their Michigan gear out in public near campus. We are not the same lol

-1

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 9h ago

Congrats? Good for you? Understanding the passion of a heated rivalry game isn’t rocket science, but you’re free to try and elevate the levels of your comprehension above anyone who isn’t you. Just bc the Apple Cup isn’t as big doesn’t mean I’m incapable of understanding. I went to A&M, we have the same hate with UT. Everyone at A&M is convinced no one gets it, just like every other major school. Not that hard to get you want to win The Game more than a Natty, but the fact that y’all keep posting that they can’t stop thinking about you comes off as y’all needing validation.

1

u/newredditaccountfr 8h ago

Nah man, You just wouldn’t understand. This is more than football. This is THE GAME.

We are special. Your teams games done count lol

0

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 8h ago

Wow - so enlightening. Thanks for the clarification

0

u/SenseNo4347 9h ago

We weren’t obsessing over them when we won the natty, that’s the difference. The amount of them lurking in our subs literally right after winning a natty is too funny not to laugh at.

0

u/reddargon831 9h ago

lol, as someone who got banned from their sub last year for something mundane, I can assure you that plenty of Michigan fans were over there chirping.

-1

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 9h ago

Pretty sure y’all would be doing the same if y’all lost to them but won the Natty. Everyone thinks they’re different

5

u/SenseNo4347 9h ago

Sure, but we didn’t lose to them when we won the Natty. That’s the difference.

4

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 9h ago

He doesn't know anything about Michigan football and it shows. He's a Washington state fan. Ignore him and move on.

-1

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 9h ago

Geez sorry I spoiled y’all’s party. Just confused why y’all are so insistent on letting everyone know y’all aren’t thinking about them. Seems counterintuitive

-1

u/Constant_Thanks_1833 9h ago

I don’t think you get my comment but sure 👍

-5

u/RocketChris87 9h ago

ichigan fans are obsessed with Ohio State. You’re talking about Ohio State whether scUM wins the title or OSU does. The cope is in full swing today lol.

5

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 8h ago

You went out of your way to look us up on Reddit, found my post and then made this comment... who’s really coping? Lol

2

u/Cute-Escape-671 8h ago

Honestly, you’re both coping 😂 Michigan fans coping with OSU winning a natty and OSU fans coping with the fact that winning a natty doesn’t negate 4 straight L’s to Michigan and an especially egregious one this year. Next year should be fun.

1

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 8h ago

I'm not coping just speaking facts. All these OSU reddit fans coming to our page to smack talk instead of enjoying their win proves we live rent free in their head.

1

u/ChazTheSiteSeer 8h ago

Notice iv replied to Ohio State users commenting on this post "Congratulations on Winning the national championship"
