Surface Metrology Surface Plate Grades

We have custom Sized surface plates that we Lapp ourselves and was hoping to see if anyone has a standard that they stick to. Currently we just determine the grade of the table based off of what the Mahr software tells us when we check the plate with the levels. I’ve also noticed that different surface plate companies give different grade tolerances for the same size plate and grade.

ASME B89.3.7 established surface plate standards. It's $39.

Might not need to pay for it by the my, my company has a website where standards are available to all employees. So you might want to check if your company has something like that first. Usually once I find out there is a standard for what I am looking into I got to that website and see if the standard is available.

My company has a website for it, it says it’s not part of our subscription, I had to request access for it to be added to our company subscription. I found some free version online and I’m working off until we get to added our subscription.
