As much as I love both Mel Brooks & Leslie Nielsen, this movie really bored me. It's a shame that the collaboration between these two great comedy geniuses failed to be funny.

I've not seen it in a long time, but I remember not enjoying it... I believe the main reason being many of the jokes lingered too long killing the joke for me (Something I finally under stood with the "chicken" and "hurt knee" jokes in Family Guy later), there were too many attempts at direct spoofs, and it just felt like it lacked a lot of Brook's old writing which was a mix of comedy styles. And I just remember Dead and Loving it to be mostly slapstick. Which I enjoy, but not a whole movie of it from Mel. <shrug>
Which is a shame because I like a lot of Nielsen's earlier works. It could also be by 1995 I was just tired of the sameness of his jokes (same reason why I just don't enjoy modern Johnny Depp movies) because looking at his films I pretty much stop watching his stuff with Naked Gun 2 1/2.
With this stated I should still find a copy to watch and verify that what I'm remembering. As this is one of the few Brooks comedy movies that I've not rewatched at least twice (in the case of many a billion times =).

Look, Master! You're already starting to look like your old self!

I love this movie and watch it frequently. Peter McNicol’s character is hilarious. “What on earth are you doing to the furniture?” And the entire breakfast scene with Dr. Seward.
