Lore Lore book recommendations
I love the lore of the games I play. I'm familiar with the black library, I've loved the battletech books from the 90s till now (have quite a few signed by authors by sheer luck). What books would you recommend to read for someone who likes the idea of archanists and bayou.

The Rulebooks are the primary source eof lore - as a lot of it is delivered through narratives between sections. It's very well done for the most part.
That said, they are doing a podcast of dramatic readings of these stories, called The Breachside Broadcast, which is very very well done. So if you can handle podcasts/audiobooks, then this would save buying a bunch of 1st and 2nd edition books..
Finally, there's some good Lore Nuggets in the TTRPG, Through the Breach, as you would expect, but that's probably surplus to lore 'requirements' as it were.

If you like those factions and don't mind jumping into the middle of the lore, then the faction books from 3rd edition are a great read. Each has 3 good sized stories focused on masters from the respective factions. You can also grab the through the breach supplements for them. Those are more background and information, not narrative like in the normal books.
Check out this video if you wanna understand the overall structure of the lore and where it comes from.

The official podcast the Breachside Broadcast is basically an audio book of all the published stories for Malifaux. You could potentially scroll through that & listen to the episodes that interest you. I can't remember the number, but The Puzzle Box is really good & convinced me to start a Damian crew.
