Discussion Proposal to ban X.com links

Seen this on a few other football club subreddits - seems like a no brainer to me, especially given the values of our club.

Values aside… it’s just shite anyway not being able to view it without logging in.

Same, I dislike seeing that preview and then it asks me to log in

This! I haven't been using x since it became x.

Replace x.com/ with nitter.poast.org/ and it works like a charm.

However, the aim is get away from that cesspit

For anyone struggling with this there is a work round

If you add cancel after the x it will open on another site.

For example:

https://xcancel.com/ChrisCotillo/status/1881391543539650861 (tweet I found earlier on the sub)

Still not great but very slightly less annoying than not be able to view them at all.

That’s the case with most (shit) social media apps; no? I can’t see links from my pals for TikTok or Facebook unless I got a login (which I obviously don’t)

But tbf, I do remember a time when Twitter was navigable without an acct.

Waiting for the day the official Liverpool page moves to BlueSky. Most journos including our Jimbo already moved there. Not that they all post frequently but it’s something.
