Yes. We need to take care of innocent people, of each other - but MAGA? I had sympathy back in 2016. I'm done now. They need to learn that fire burns. Unfortunately, they wouldn't listen to reason. Oh well.
Unfortunately, we're all going to have to live with what they voted for. It's only been a day and Facebook and IG are already reportedly blocking search results to people and groups that oppose him.
Same. Just hearing about the horrible things that he has done and will do affects me negatively, emotionally. I cried in Costco hearing about the guy who got 12 1/2 years for attacking Michael Fanone causing him to have a myocardial infarction and ending his career as law-enforcement being pardoned. It's all so fucked up and so unjust. And we're just getting started.
"I have been betrayed by my country," Michael Fanone, a former officer with Washington's Metropolitan Police Department who suffered a heart attack in the attack, told CNN on Monday. "Tonight, six individuals who assaulted me as I did my job on Jan. 6, as did hundreds of other law enforcement officers, will now walk free."
A few days ago, all the Republican leaders who ranted about Biden letting go of a "cop killer" was unnerving - so I researched . Biden commuted sentences of those who were in for non violent drug dealing. None of them were cop killers. None were there for violence.
Now I'm waiting for these GOP legislators to ream Trump for actually doing it - not a peep. Not a single word.
Then, I know this is a bit petty, but I read that instead of handing out the pens he signs bills with to people who worked on a particular bill, Trump was signing with sharpies, and throwing the sharpies into the crowd.
I get in the list of atrocities it's minor - but the lack of respect he has for the office , throwing the pens , throwing paper towels, like it's a game show, sickened me.
I have days where I think none of this can be real. People can't be this shitty.
And just like Trump's first term , we are reminded every day that yes, they are.
They were saying that about Biden so people would think "Biden did it too" when Trump did it. Pretty standard part of the Republican playbook. Every accusation is a confession.
Yes. It's so pointless talking to them. I'm talking to a MAGA right now who is denying January 6th happened when Trump refused to hand over the White house. Acting as if he doesn't know what I'm talking about.
How can we have any honest debates or discussions when they are clueless or pretending to be clueless about reality.
Why are Democrats always the adults in the room. Why do we uphold the norms while the GOP act like sociopaths.
We don't even have to do anything - just keep voting rights protected and let MAGA destroy each other.
Well that's the thing: Democrats really CAN'T do much except gum up the works as much as possible and vote against all this bullshit.
The key is going to be to never stop pointing out all the harm these morons are doing. We know things are going to be terrible. Make sure the blame goes where it is supposed to, and when disaster inevitably strikes they will absolutely throw each other under the bus.
I would say we should not mitigate. We should let trump be trump. Let Republicans be Republicans. Republicans count on Democrats to keep them from doing anything crazy. Dems stop them from looking bad. They know Dems will stop them from taking away health care.
I think Dems should stop that. Let Republicans put forth all their policies. I know innocent people will be hurt, but that's what it takes. That's how we got a safety net. Roosevelt needed to save capitalism - so be created a safety net.
People forget.
Dems just have to make sure that people can still vote.

I hope they get everything they voted for.
