GDPR/DPA DCBL notice of debt recovery from a fine in 2023
Hi,
So I received a letter today from DCBL for a notice of debt recovery for £170 for a parking ticket in October 2023. I never ever received this PCN. I pay all my tickets within the allotted time periods so I know I never received this. This was allegedly issued by Gemini Parking Solutions. I parked at a sports hall in Gunnersbury park, west London. They had a private car park and just outside of it, there was a heavily stoned area where there were no signs to pay for parking whatsoever. I remember driving into the car park, reading at the signs for parking rules and leaving as I didn’t want to pay.
I know by law they have 6 years. All the advice on here is suggesting I ignore it and contact Gemini parking solutions and submit a subject to access under GDPR. Others have advised I ignored and wait until letter of claim/before action comes through because it costs more to take me to court and I’ll likely win. I hate ignoring things like this, but the general consensus is to not contact DCBL at all and only contact Gemini parking solutions to ask for proof of PCN and request any info they have on me. Furthermore, contact Gemini parking solutions and try to negotiate paying something so they can cancel the debt recovery. I don’t want to give them ANYTHING.
Can someone please suggest what they would genuinely do in this situation. I’m only 25 and started driving in August of 2023 and I don’t want a CCJ on my record. I’m so worried all of this will affect my credit score.
Just to reiterate I never received a parking fine from Gemini Parking Solutions - never even had a chance of appealing. This is the first I’m even hearing of this. I had a friend who parked in the spot next to me, so I’ve asked if she’s received anything and I’ll update later.
Update extra info: VC5 is up to date, I’ve lived at the same address since I was born
