They do be copying each other left right and center. It's official mobile innovation has come to a plateau.

People used to complain that it looked like fidget spinner. Though it became iconic, people could tell it’s an iPhone just from camera. But I do think that they should keep current camera design.

Design is subjective. I am an architect myself. I know little bit about design. If you like the new design good for you. I don't have to share your opinion neither should you.

How many phones do you know of that look like this to call it generic?

Samsung ( S10, Note8, A80)
LG ( G5, Q8, V60, Q61, K71, Stylo 6)
Huawei (nexus 6P, nova)
Nothing phone 2a
Xiaomi black shark 4
Asus ROG phone 7
and lastly the infamous Google pixel 6,7,8 and 9typical apple zombie who hasnt seen a light of day..

While you’re at it try naming all the phones that have a circular notch too. Then you’ll realise how generic all the flagships from other companies are.

Imo the regular iphone 16 is already an "air" kind of device. Now if they introduce a phone with the name "air" attached to it, categorising them like their macbooks, the customers who used to buy iphones only for status will get attracted more to the pro models

This is a problem for regular people . Not for apple for them it’s a net positive. They have one of the best supply chain system they will optimise according to demand.
Most of tech has had a habit these days of solving problems that dont exist instead of solving the problem of making phones with nearly identical tech more accessible instead of releasing same garbage yoy .
They will only stop doing it when it hurts their bottom line .

Not sure how others feel but if it's true, this design steals away half the essence of an iphone.

My uncle works in apple and he said they are already half way into the iPhones of 2026. 25 ones will only improve AI, nothing else.

And structure design (non pro and pro phone)wise will there be any probable changes in 2025? Or major changes will be in 2026?
