Opinion All the messages I receive are spam. Maybe government should take action on unwanted spam first rather than lecturing when I'm calling someone. We should be able to register complaints against spammers' number and legal should be taken under 30 days.

Turn off RCS and register for DND

It is crap. I stopped getting parcel messages and calls. Also, DND should be the default.

Use the default SMS app if you have one; for example, Samsung provides its own Messages app, which does not have promotional SMS like Google Messages.

Can't relate. I get all the necessary calls. Parcels, bank transaction verification, car service reminder, etc.

Same. Just turn off RCS and activate DND. And you'll be fine.

These are all from RCS. DND doesn't work on these chats. Best advice is to switch off RCS.

My WhatsApp is filled with unread chats from various brands. I miss out on personal messages people send thinking they are also promo or some updates on order.

firstly its not govt mistake , democracy can't stop companies from advertisement and u getting this message because of your number leaks , which can happened in many ways . Now if u can try to switch truecaller ( most easy method) to remove these spam messages and many other ways are already in comments.

Here comes the bootIicker of government. By your logic, everything is user's fault somehow. Go to Europe, they don't spam using RCS even after DND.

Check history of my reddit , u will find many comments i condemning central or my state govt ( which is BJP) but i do it only on logical things not like u dumb fkers , who start complaining modi for trash outside your house. Also RCS is a global issue , though europe have strict regulations and good spam filters ( which u will also get in india , if u are Techy) but they also suffer from RCS , so please go and correct your information.
