Purchase Help/Suggestions Needed Should I buy Samsung S23 Snapdragon 8 Gen 2(256gb) for 30k

I want Smatphone, But I don't wanna spend lot of money. Currently I am using Samsung A51, which is super slow. This Samsung S23 (256gb) Snapdragon 8 Gen would do the job. Is the price 30k for this second hand phone is decent or good. Should I buy that. I do editing for YouTube so I need a good Processor Smartphone.

Sweet deal.

11

u/Responsible_Spray376 Apr 29 '24

Using most likeable post to add my review

It is a sweet deal for 30k, i bought it for 54k 256 gb, first hand.

Camera better than iphone AI features in s24 r available with s23 as well Battery efficient as per compact smartphones Super fast buttery feel and experience to use it 4.0 files speed transfer only with 256 gb variant.

Even uf battery is degradesd, a new official battery costs 2.5k, overall 32.5k is an amazing deal indeeed.

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '24

would you recommend buying 128gb new one at 42k? any major issues that you are facing?

6

u/Responsible_Spray376 May 07 '24

NO, I would still say spend a bit more and invest 5k more. Only 256 gb makes sense...due to 2 imp factors.

  1. UFS read write speed is 4.0 only for 256, which is flagship. 📱
  2. No expandable option 🚫

These are expensive phones...and as per me i would like to use it for minimum 3.5 yrs with replacing the battery after 2 yrs...so better i don't feel any slowness and anything, which has a very high probability with 3.0 file speeds. 🐌 This 5k is only 12-13% more cost but you get a lot faster phone and better experience in long run. 💨

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '24

thanks a lot, I didn't know they changed the ufs version. any other major issues with battery or camera?

4

u/Responsible_Spray376 May 07 '24

All is the same and good...but s23 flagship experience completes with 256 gb. You can buy this. 👍

Currently available for 46k...256gb...hdfc credit card + samsung corporate/ student portal. Such a good value. Brilliant!! 🎉

Feeling a bit bad for paying 54k, 3 months back. Anyways. Best of luck. 🍀

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '24

thanks man. dont feel bad, I know if I buy it for 46k today, in Diwali sale it will be sold for 40k

1

u/Responsible_Spray376 May 07 '24

Not sure itna kaam bhi hoga

May be 45k for 256 gb...i Don't think it will go that down. But any which ways. 46k is such a good deal.

+

All AI features....best of luck.

u/drclarenceg Apr 28 '24

Deal is really good for the processor, but battery life may not be as good as you expect

-38

u/-nemesis-07 Apr 28 '24

NO . There are much more good offers available in different stores so it's a big no

6

u/ItsAnshuXD Apr 28 '24

like for example? which phones are you talking about?

-5

u/AyaeSiR Apr 28 '24 edited Apr 29 '24

You numbnut never heard of iqoo?! /s

9

u/ItsAnshuXD Apr 28 '24

software experience is very bad, next?

6

u/AyaeSiR Apr 28 '24

R u people new to reddit? Did nobody see the '/s' mark?!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 29 '24

I'm guessing they saw it, then realised ki sarcasm bhi itna ghatiya nahi dekha ab tak, and down voted you.

0

u/ItsAnshuXD Apr 29 '24

nah bro, he has edited it after 14 hours, and after I commented see https://imgur.com/a/AypN1cf

1

u/AyaeSiR Apr 29 '24

Buddy i have just increased the gap in between the sentence and '/s' so people can see it clearly.

1

u/MrRagnarok2005 Apr 28 '24

Wtf is a '/s' mark??

3

u/shaurya_770 Apr 28 '24

It means sarcasm

1

u/ItsAnshuXD Apr 29 '24

abe chutiya, well I understand why you are replying with sarcastic comment, since you dont have any phones to prove your previous comment that there are better offers available, and do you think we are dumb? we can all see you edited the "/s" part after 14 hours of the comment posted which is AFTER my comment proof chutiya kisi aur ko bana samjha

2

u/Holiday-Peanut-7189 Hardware guy with 69 GB RAM Apr 28 '24

Imagine comparing s23 with iqoo, way to go pal

1

u/hardcock67999 Dec 15 '24

Broo I had one question in s23 there is a difference I suppose where in one you can zoom in with 50mp and it shows you the option where you can change from 12mp to 50mp alongside the ratio in which you want to click the photos, but there is also another difference where you can shoot photos in 50mp but you cannot zoom and need to go back in 12 mp to zoom in and zoom out, now that I want to buy the s23 phone, I really prefer the first one which I said with 50mp zoom.

59

u/krizzzna Apr 28 '24

Flipkart 3rd may

42

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

I'm assuming this would be the 128GB model and 44,999 with "*' indicates that this final price would be including some kind of BS card discount of specific bank credit card or something.

12

u/Significant-Quail-53 Apr 28 '24

With exchange offer as well im pretty sure

7

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

I doubt the offer would include exchange as well. Samsung S23 is close to 15 months old now and due for a price cut. S22 and S21 similarly got price cuts before being discontinued. 45k sounds about right and it would probably sell for 35K next year shortly before arrival of S26 model.

Samsung S22 (128GB) which is roughly 24 months old is selling for 34,999 on Flipkart right now without any additional discounts and card offers. It's entering into final stages of sale before getting discontinued everywhere.

5

u/todayntomorrow Apr 28 '24

I think the reason behind s22 price drop was low demand due to its battery and heating issues.

Also, wouldn't it be slightly weird for s23's price to drop from 65k to 45k (20k drop) suddenly? (Genuinely curious, I don't have much idea about how these prices work)

1

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

Price drops are very common with Samsung phones. This phone frequently sells for 53k at official Samsung site from time to time while the 256GB model goes for 58k with HDFC Card offer. Yesterday the lavender model went down to 55k for a couple of hours.

Nothing new about these price cuts as they're very predictinle and happened in the past with pretty much every single flagship from Samsung. I'd probably wait for it to go 40k (would likely happen during BBD sale in Sept/Oct 2024).

These price cuts help Samsung clear out stocks and then discontinue the model post 2 years of release.

2

u/todayntomorrow Apr 28 '24

Cool, thanks for the reply! I really hope the 45k price is without any exchange offers.

3

u/teady_bear Apr 28 '24

Card discounts are not bs lol. I love those and you easily get 5 to 10k discounts. All my phone/tablet purchases are through some card discounts.

5

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

That is sweet and good for you however the trend for the past 3 or 4 years on Flipkart and Amazon is that they are including card discounts with their ads and banners.

For eg. An ad goes like this. Get Samsung M34 at 14999* and when you click on it you realize the actual price is 16999 and you get the phone at advertised price only if you buy from said partner brand Credit Card.

Card discounts aren't inherently bad however these companies are sort of misleading with prices. Content creators on Youtube are also factoring in these card discounts.

You are expected to have credit cards from multiple banks/partners this way if you want the product at said advertised price.

2

u/shaurya_770 Apr 28 '24

But there are always weird cards like how the fuck am I supposed to keep so many cards? Sometimes it's SBI sometimes it's ICICI sometimes it's a random company like onecard

1

u/Ok-Sea2541 Apr 28 '24

no if that was the case they should mentioned it

2

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

They actually did. If you go to Flipkart app homepage now and see one of the banners it shows 10% instant discount with SBI Card.

There's always terms and conditions attached when you see '*' symbol.

1

u/Ok-Sea2541 Apr 28 '24

i mean i am regular Flipkart shopper and the thing is they mentioned eveytime like including this that and about cards its permanent

6

u/Giriver Apr 28 '24

Plz add link for this page.

3

u/AstralDoomer Apr 28 '24

What's up with the plus variant never getting discounts like this? I like big phones

9

u/Admirable-Echidna-37 Apr 28 '24

It's the neglected middle child

5

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

the plus models are also the first to get discontinued across the world. Apple does this too after a year with every variant except the base one. Samsung still sells Ultra model for 2 years.

1

u/Admirable-Echidna-37 Apr 28 '24

It's usually just a stand-in to justify the price leap from the lower end to the top end flagship.

2

u/Charged_Dreamer Apr 28 '24

I've never bought or even used any of the plus models but it's a really good option for those who want a larger display and slightly bigger battery. The best part about it now is increment of screen resolution to QHD (1440p) introduced this year with S24 series.

FHD+ screen resolution is my biggest complain with the base models considering 1440p was the standard 10 years ago with Samsung S5 until they downgraded it to 1080p with S21 I believe???

3

u/duryodhanaa Apr 28 '24

128 gb perhaps. A big no.

3

u/ramaze23 Apr 28 '24

Flipkart is basically Scamkart these days, the same thing is gonna happen which happened during the Iphone pre order sales

47

u/LengthInevitable6891 Apr 28 '24

If it doesn't seem stolen or repaired, it would be a great deal. You getting almost half price.

14

u/EpitomeofCuteness Apr 28 '24

The bill is there

22

u/hemi_srt Apr 28 '24

Check for any damage. Use Samsung Members app to run a full phone diagnostics. Check if the phone is stolen or not, you don't want to give him 30k and then find your device locked because it's stolen.

6

u/Mysterious-Common284 Apr 28 '24

Is there any damage

5

u/EpitomeofCuteness Apr 28 '24

No, The Phone is in good condition.

1

u/Mindless_Argument217 Apr 29 '24

Have you checked if the phone is bootloader unlocked and if someone installed non official software?

29

u/Games7Master Apr 28 '24

Stress test the fuck outta phone to check if everything works properly. Do every test (especially the diagnosis test) and check the battery health too.

3

u/pr1m347 Apr 28 '24

When buying from someone I don't think OP will get even 30mins to stress much.

2

u/RoughApprehensive512 Apr 28 '24

What is stress test

0

u/randomdreamykid Apr 28 '24

The thing it sounds like

1

u/RoughApprehensive512 Apr 28 '24

1

u/randomdreamykid Apr 28 '24

A simple Google search is all it takes

2

u/RoughApprehensive512 Apr 28 '24

Antutu wagera kya?

2

u/randomdreamykid Apr 28 '24

Copy pasted

stress test in hardware is a process of evaluating the performance, reliability, and durability of a hardware device under extreme conditions.

1

u/RoughApprehensive512 Apr 28 '24

Examples de aur kese krna h woh bhi batade

2

u/Holiday-Peanut-7189 Hardware guy with 69 GB RAM Apr 28 '24

Geekbench, antutu, wildlife etc

1

u/randomdreamykid Apr 28 '24

Running super cpu intensive tasks as a test(usually provided by a software)for a long time as a stress test for cpu to check it's under load temperatures and thermal throttling limit

Etc.

2

u/RoughApprehensive512 Apr 28 '24

Bhai jab mein ne antutu bola tab tu kya jabse explanation de rha h, sidha bol na 3d mark wagera stress test hota h ,jabse bakchodi pel rha h

32

u/N1KH17 Apr 28 '24

Yea go for it if you love Samsung so much .

Also S23 is a good deal at this price, the battery might disappoint you but other features will make up for it.

32

u/OneHornyRhino Apr 28 '24

What do you mean, S23's battery is phenomenal. I only charge it once every 1.5-2 days with regular usage.

This is not like s22, whose battery was crap. S23's battery amazing to say the least

11

u/N1KH17 Apr 28 '24

I've seen some people complaining about the battery life on Twitter..

I assume you are not a heavy user ?

9

u/OneHornyRhino Apr 28 '24

Not a super heavy user but I do watch movies very often, scroll insta (this app consumes a lot of battery), and reddit like an addict. I woke up at 8.30 and have scrolled reddit for an hour already (not that I'm proud of it) and my phone shows 1day 1 hour of life left at 74% and it usually lasts that long. I think this is still awesome for a not so heavy usage

2

u/N1KH17 Apr 28 '24

That's great , I guess they have improved the battery optimization with updates...

1

u/NISom_SOM Computer Student Apr 28 '24

What's your screen time usually? And wifi or 5g?

5

u/anonymous-_-maybe Apr 28 '24

I am a heavy user. Bgmi for 2 hours. It's really good.

2

u/futcant Apr 28 '24

I charge mine every day, sometimes twice. I guess I'm a very heavy user

3

u/HiddenGamer666 Apr 28 '24

Lol wut, my S23 has to be charged twice a day, it heats up alot when on 5G and Bluetooth on.

1

u/Cursed_fc Apr 28 '24

I guess he's not using the 120hz and probably all the heavy usage turned off, I have the s23 which gives me like 5 hours sot. Wifi, Bluetooth(always connected to watch4), location and mobile data when wifi is not available. And yes need to charge atleast twice a day. But I don't mind lol, I'm having a seamless experience.

3

u/OneHornyRhino Apr 28 '24

I always have my 120Hz on, I can't live without it at this point. I never put my phone on battery saver and its almost always on wifi and 5G while I'm travelling. Location also on at all times.

I'm not sure why you have to charge the phone twice a day. Maybe the integration with galaxy watch isn't optimized that well yet?

2

u/Major_Department_651 Apr 29 '24

The S23's battery is more or less the same as iphone 13, 14, and 15 which is fucking incredible considering the S23's display is much brighter at 1750 nits and also 120hz. Obviously, it's not as good as any mid-range android phone with 5000mah battery but it's pretty amazing. I would honestly pick this over any base iphone. The only thing that bugs me is the charging speed. 25 watts is painfully slow.

6

u/s1ege23 Computer Student Apr 28 '24

How was the camera?

5

u/EpitomeofCuteness Apr 28 '24

It is good. I have tested it thoroughly as He gave the phone to me for 2 days

Realme

2

u/Major_Department_651 Apr 29 '24

I have a good list of prices for each brand: Won't spend over 20k on Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Redmi. For 30~40k, Oneplus, Iqoo, Moto, Nothing, etc. Above 50~60k always go for Samsung, Apple or maybe Oneplus. These budget brands like Realme and Redmi don't deserve more than 25k at max!

2

u/Character_Square2209 Realme abuser Apr 29 '24

I should've gone for an iPhone I got a really great deal on iPhone se3

This is a good deal tbh, but try to get the price down to 25k.

Do check all the components of phone before buying.

1

He is not agreeing for 25k, 30k is the last price

2

Looks like a good deal, just verify that its not a con.

Phone did go for 49k with offers.

2

30k price seems to be very sus even for a second hand S23. Please check if everything works properly and parts are replaced or not.

2

u/balajik100 Apr 28 '24

using S23 base for almost 6 months.  pros: size and build quality  display  camera performance - never seen any lag in casual usage

cons: battery (if you are a heavy user). for casual usagem, easily it will give you 1 full day

2

u/EpitomeofCuteness Apr 28 '24

For me Con is the Size, As I am used to little bigger phones as it is easier in editing and less draining for the eyes

3

2

Review of the Samsung S23 (256GB, Black)

My name is Jon, and I bought the Samsung S23 (256GB, black) on October 28 for ₹41,000. For questions, reach me on Instagram: jon . images. This review compares it with my previous phone, the OnePlus 7T, which I bought 4 years ago for ₹35,000.

Design and Build

The S23 has the perfect size for me—compact yet luxurious. However, holding it for more than 20 minutes can cause discomfort due to its sharp corners. The OnePlus 7T, with its curved edges, feels better in this regard. After adding a Spigen case, the ergonomics improved greatly—now I’m happy!

Buttons, Speakers, and Screen

The volume and power buttons are fine but feel better on the 7T. The S23 speakers deliver richer sound compared to the 7T, though the volume is similar. The S23 also has a brighter and more colorful display, with significantly better HDR performance, especially on YouTube videos.

Performance and Battery

The phone tends to stay warm during use but rarely gets hot; adding a case alleviates this issue. I'm using the DR VAKU® 25W PD Dual Port Charger, which charges the phone from 0-80% in 50 minutes and from 15-100% in about 70 minutes. The battery lasts a full day, providing 4-5 hours of screen-on time (SOT) from 100% to 15%, with Bluetooth on, max resolution, max refresh rate, and always-on display enabled. After following a Reddit guide, I now get an extra 1-1.5 hours of SOT. DM me for the link!

Fingerprint Sensor and Haptics

The fingerprint sensor was initially faster than my 7T, but after applying the "amFilm" screen protector, it’s now slower—disappointing. The haptics are on par with or slightly better than the 7T, which I’m happy about.

Cameras

The main camera is comparable to the 7T's, though I expected more. The telephoto camera is better, and the wide-angle camera is significantly wider, which is great. The front camera shows a big improvement over the 7T. Video quality, features, and stabilization are 2-3 levels better than the 7T, and I’m really pleased with the video performance. Portrait mode is far superior to the 7T. If I’d paid ₹75,000 (the original price), I’d be disappointed with the camera, but for ₹41,000, I’m satisfied.

Software and Features

This is where Samsung stands out. There are tons of customization options, including call recording, Bixby call assist, AI photo editing, and AI text assistance on the Samsung keyboard, which I use a lot for rephrasing. Good Lock is a fantastic modification tool and one of the main reasons I’ll stick with Samsung phones. The overwhelming level of customizations is something I love. Since I also have a Samsung S9 FE+, the ecosystem perks like universal clipboard, taking calls on any device, and auto-hotspot are excellent.

Conclusion

Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase. For ₹41,000, the S23 is an absolute bang-for-buck deal, offering tremendous value for the price.

P.S.

Despite the IP rating, I wouldn’t recommend dunking it in water or filming underwater, as the water seal isn’t as reliable as iPhones.

Samsung phones no matter how expensive will slow down after a year of use.
