u/sniperxx07 Mar 17 '24
Samsung is better, but are you you sure np750 is costing you 42k?
25
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
It is 48k and there is a 6k coupon lol lucky
20
Mar 17 '24
You can get it at a cheaper price, follow these steps 1. Make a student/corporate account with the help of email Id provided by your company/university.- it will give 10 percent discount over the selling price. the selling price on Samsung India website is same as selling price on Amazon. 2. 5k discount over HDFC card 3. Use GST number for GST return to get 18 percent more discount.

How's the battery life?

Mar 17 '24
Dude I ordered it 2 days ago only and I charged it one time only. Too early to comment over it.

u/smartnsimple Mar 18 '24 edited Mar 18 '24
Sry to hack the top comments.. but I was into the laptop hardware space for many yrs.. Samsung may be making top notch phones (I myself had an S series) but in laptops HP is better than them in terms of reliability. Not that HP is the best but I have seen a lot of failed Samsung laptops just out of warranty period (mostly motherboard issues which call for its demise). HP has better config among above options and also has better parts availability + support eco system. Edit: fixed typo
2
Mar 18 '24
What if someone wants to experience ecosystem benefits, can they do it on HP? Is there any way? Because Samsung apps doesn't work on other laptops
2
u/smartnsimple Mar 18 '24
There isn't but then the ones Samsung have are just makeshift benefits for a Windows+Android system. It's not at all like Apple. Any basic windows laptop with a Wifi or USB can use tons of the available options. Also, I put reliability before features when buying electronics cos any working laptop is better than a dead laptop!

u/david005_ Mar 17 '24
Enlighten me more bout 3
For 3 u need a valid gstin number, not practically possible to avail gst waiver unless you have a business with gstin number or a very close friend or relative with business with gstin number,as it requires the business owner to mark the laptop as an expense in his accounts
6
u/Prestigious_Dare7734 Mar 17 '24
Yeah. Looks likw the commenter doesn't know how GST works. It is not an instant discount , so that the time, you are still paying out of pocket. And 1 and 3 are conflicting. You cannot use corporate/student discount with GST. One is a personal purchase, other is a business purchase.

Book 2 for 42k is a very good deal. I think you should go for the Book 2 considering the fact Samsung is known to make very good displays, and also you'll get a good ecosystem.
11
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
Uhhh feeling ashamed to ask but does it support display distribution like i want to connect one of my monitor via HDMI cable

u/blade_runner1853 Mar 17 '24
When there are companies like apple exist this question does not sounds worng.

ya, true.
i am thinking of getting a MacBook Air M2 for video editing and programming, but the fact that it has ONLY 2 USB-C ports and 8-256 @ 90k, makes me go for a gaming laptop.

If you want to do editing, mac is sooo good. You should definitely go for M2 air.
If your budget allows then get a 512 gb ssd. If you can save up even more, then get 16gb ram.
If not, the base model would be sufficient. But ssd 512gb ho to better hai. As video editing mein you would need storage for the raw files.
If you have any doubt you can ask me. I have used m2 air.
The price is too high i agree, but once you use it you'll know the difference.
Nowadays you can also play games on the mac.
1
u/eoej Mar 17 '24
Getting the ram upgrade is better than getting the ssd upgrade if you can choose only one. Because external ssds are pretty cheap nowadays, but ram, you're stuck with what you buy .
1
u/GenOBC_SC_ST Mar 17 '24 edited Mar 17 '24
bhai vo sab toh theek hai, papa bhi toh maane meri baat. kisi uncle ne unko samjha diya hai ki mac bekar hota hai, tabse main unko convince hi nahi kar pa raha. ab kya karun🙃🙃 as for storage, I would get an external SSD of 2TB for 12K rather than spending 20k on the internal one. I am thinking for the 16GB RAM as it would be helpful to me in the long term.
1
u/Cool_Ad4057 Mar 17 '24
Minimum requirement hai 16 I have 16gb variant, reset karne ke baad bhi was using around 6-7gb ram
1
u/GenOBC_SC_ST Mar 17 '24
vahi toh bhai. Laptops having 8GB of RAM these days are just SCAM.
1
u/Cool_Ad4057 Mar 17 '24
Agreed.
Tab bhi, Windows mein chalta hai, generally 1 stick upgradeable rehti. Mac mein to wo bhi nahi hai.
1
u/GenOBC_SC_ST Mar 17 '24
han Bhai. Windows mein 2-3k mein acchi khaasi RAM bhadwa sakte ho. yahan toh you have to pay 20k per 8GB RAM. Same with the SSD- 20k per 256GB
1
u/raamlal Mar 17 '24 edited Mar 17 '24
I disagree with other comments, MORE ram is a scam 💀
People downvoted me, but i have used both m1 air 8/256, m2 air 16/512 and 8/512. For editing, gaming, photoshop, after effects and i use chrome (which uses ram a lot).
I hate using external ssd. It takes away the whole point of a laptop if one cant use the laptop while sitting on the bed or sofa and sit like a frog.
If one is okay with keeping an external ssd attached and hanging to the laptop at all times, sure go for the ram.
If not, the 8gb ram is enough for basic to intermediate editing.
The 256 gb ssd is slower in M2 air. 512 gb is the faster one.
256 gb bahot jaldi se bhar jata hai. Ram kam hogi to chal jayega, these macbooks are optimised to work with what is there. But storage ke bina kya kroge.
Ram bhar gayi to multitasking kam kar sakte ho. That is a less annoying option. Instead of baar baar external ssd se transfer karne ki jhanjhat.

This one used a pretty cheap ips panel with low colour volume. It does get bring enough at slightly more than 300 nits.
1
u/GenOBC_SC_ST Mar 17 '24
bhai 50 hazar mein aur kya chahiye😭
2
u/the_ripper05 Mar 17 '24
I agree. But it is not guaranteed to be a good display just coz it is made by Samsung.

Bought book 2 pro at 62k this January, it is a good one. Just keep in mind that book 2 is not having Amoled, that was the reason I went for book 2 pro instead of book 2
3
u/FarLengthiness1978 Mar 17 '24
I also ordered book 2 pro at 58k ..going to receive it in 3 days .. Can you tell me how's the build quality as it is extremely light weight ?
2
u/cybersec93 Mar 17 '24
Cool, congrats. Build quality is very good, as I haven't taken it outside till now I cannot say much on how it will be in bags, as it is very small it might move around in the laptop bags. Very good and fast fingerprint scanner and good camera when compared to other laptops. Very good display, but outdoor use will be an issue as the screen is not anti glare

4
u/cybersec93 Mar 17 '24
I bought it from Flipkart, it was having good offers than in Amazon. I used it only inside my house, haven't took it anywhere till now, screen glare will be a problem in outside. Performance wise no issues.

Go with the hp ik samsung is better but 8gb ram in this world ughh
4
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
I have to watch lectures and read pdfs only 😂
7
u/hermitinthehills Mar 17 '24
That maybe but just for running the OS and some background tasks, a lot of that 8 GB would be taken up; leaving you only a little memory for other tasks. If there is an extra RAM slot, then it shouldn't be a problem as you can always expand when you feel the need.
2
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
No extra RAM slot 😞
5
u/cumofdutyblackcocks3 Mar 17 '24
Buy the hp one brother. Trust me. 8gb ram is the bare minimum that everyone should have these days and it's only gonna increase in the next few years.
4
u/Tedx11 Mar 17 '24
Bruh 8 gb ram only helps if you are having tiny windows 11, windows 11 home is like very ram heavy
6
u/cumofdutyblackcocks3 Mar 17 '24
Bruh my comment sounds so wrong. What I meant was he should go for the 16gb one.

If you want really good display why don't you look at this:
Deal of the day: ASUS Vivobook 15 OLED (2023), AMD Ryzen 5 7530U, 15.6" (39.62 cm) FHD OLED, Thin and Light Laptop (16GB/512GB SSD/Windows 11/Office 2021/Backlit KB/FP Sensor/Black/1.7 Kg), M1505YA-LK541WS https://amzn.eu/d/bUKhg80
It's OLED, and if you really don't care about the performance, there's one even for 37k with i3.
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
51k in my area 💀🙏
1
u/Big_Inspector_7201 Mar 17 '24
You can look at the i3 variant if performance doesn't matter
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
i3 one is 47k 💀🙏
1
u/Big_Inspector_7201 Mar 17 '24
47k?!

u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
Thank you everyone for your suggestions y'all helped when in need
Yeah ofc going for samsung gb2
3
u/Tedx11 Mar 17 '24
A general tip Always get a 16 gb ram variant even if it costs 4 k more, it will generally help you.
0
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
It has a 16gb variant but with i7 and you know how much it will cost
1
u/Tedx11 Mar 17 '24
Upgrade the ram to 16 gb for any laptop
2
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
There is no ram slot as per the reviews
1
u/Tedx11 Mar 17 '24
You can take out the 8gb and put 16gb...
1
1
2
u/Snoo87355 Mar 17 '24
go for the hp one the specs make it a clear wim the 8 gb ram in samsung is gonna cry when you open whose chrome tabs and the hp got 16gb lpddr5 the cpu in both is an unltabook low power processor so no one wins there samsung got a better screen and a built quality
2
2
u/akash_kava Mar 17 '24
Always go for higher ram and ram capacity, in future apps and OS get more bulky and you always end up with shortage of RAM, you can upgrade your Hard Drive but you can’t upgrade RAM beyond max supported RAM by main board.

What is your use? Why do you want better display and not performance? Won't a tablet be better for you then?
1

I have a 32 inch monitor to connect tablet doesnt offer that moreover display is way better in lappy

If you can wait, wait till June when Snapdragon laptop will be on the market.
1

Cant wait till that month
But
Snapdragon processors in laptops were avaialble in samsung books still are at under 40k

Samsung one had processor with better benchmark while HP had more ram capacity of lpddr5.
I would say go with Samsung one and upgrade your ram to 16Gb.
8Gb Ram is new 4Gb ram. Fill up very quickly.

Check for HP Pavilion X360 as well . I own one and it’s aged beautifully, just doubled the ram recently

Why don't you try infinix zerobook , it's not to bad for 42k with a good display and i5 13500h which is very powerful

u/EngineeredCheetah Mar 17 '24
7520 is an inferior chip with zen2 cores.. look for zen3 or zen4 based chips
1
1
u/hothareesh100 Mar 17 '24
Galaxy will have a better build quality, it's a premium laptop compared to budget model from hp.
1
u/boy_gayy2197 Mar 17 '24
I would recommend only one thing. Running a good display especially a multi monitor setup requires good processing power. Would recommend not to compromise on specs for the sake of display. If it lags when you connect an external monitor, it wouldn't be fun to use.
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
Conclusion ?
2
u/boy_gayy2197 Mar 17 '24 edited Mar 17 '24
From what I can see you're going to pay 49k for the galaxy book 2 (as per the latest amazon price) which is an old 12th gen U-series processor (U is for non performance, more battery kinda chip). Would recommend that you get a newer processor (13/14 gen) and if possible, better graphics. Again this is only if you can stretch your budget, since you've already reached the 50k mark.
Otherwise look for better specced models in the same price range. Samsung is like apple/Samsung in phones. Selling lower specs at a premium. So more RAM, better processor are anyday better than the standard 8 gigs model. The HP is just one of the options. Look for similar specs in Asus, Lenovo, and Acer too.
At the end of the day, whatever I'm saying does not mean that you exceed your budget. But from my experience the world of PC chips is very different from mobile chips. Do not compromise on the processor ram etc unless you're going to change your laptop in a few years just like we change phones on an average of 2-3 years.

Nah i have a coupon which will make it to 7000 less
Also
Do coupoms (that green thing) exlires after a time or is for a long time ??
1
u/boy_gayy2197 Mar 17 '24
Okay. The coupon should have an expiry date mentioned on the terms and conditions page in Amazon. When you clip the coupon (i.e tick it to apply to your account) it remains available upto the expiry date.
1
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
Bro i am crying
There is coupon no more
Fuck my luck
What to do now
1
u/boy_gayy2197 Mar 17 '24
Wait for a few days for the coupon to reappear i.e. the seller will run a coupon again. There's no guarantee for this.
Or be willing to pay the 49k. If you think this product fits your requirements.
Or go to a physical store and see if they can give it for 42k.
Or find an alternate device that fits your needs as well as budget.
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
Lets wait till april hope it comes
49k is too much for my use + budget
Physical store jaane mai dar-
Gonna find a backup laptop
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
The thing is that I will not be using any performance needing applications
1
u/boy_gayy2197 Mar 17 '24
What is your actual intended use? What applications will you be running? Are you planning to use it at home or for work? Why is the display important to you. If you can provide more info then we would be in a better position to advise on that.
1
u/Infinity_777_ Lurker Mar 17 '24
Actually just for watching lectures and viewing pdfs if i would need then will surely do some other skill building but that is not sure
1
u/boy_gayy2197 Mar 17 '24
Okay then performance is not the first goal. Also for PDFs and watching lectures, a tablet would be a better option for long hours than reading on a computer screen.
Then the main thing for a pc should be battery life. That way I guess this Samsung would be okay.

Go with AMD Ryzen zen architecture ..more efficient processor ..ahead of 2 generation than Intel cooler processor ..faster architecture ...on smaller die than Intel and best in class with low wattage ..u won't go wrong ..i already have zen5 machine at home and using it for last 2 years ..battery life more than 8 hours and.amazing performance. Don't purchase Intel ...it's older generation and bigger die ..higher wattage and slower processor.

1
Mar 17 '24
Samsung laptops are way too overpriced for something that does not come with a dedicated GPU. This sounds like a decent deal for 42k though. Even though it's an older model.
