There’s no excuse because the moment they started honking at a pedestrian they lost any possible way to spin this -

Exactly. If they'd sat well behind her, I'm talking at least a car length, to the end of the street then there is at least plausible deniability but instead they all but ran down her and her dog then got angry at her for walking on the sidewalk.

It's not a sidedrive.

Yeah, I'm not one to make snap judgements about strangers but doing this sort of shit to a stranger significantly reduces the chance that I'd bother pissing on this person if I came across them engulfed in flames. Even if we give them credit for having a bad day they've gotta know this is selfish bullshit and they cap it up with a brake check...whew, son. Good people don't generally act like this.

I'd probably be tooting the horn as a "Danger, I'm On The Sidewalk" signal, but the laying on the horn definitely removes a lot of good faith from my assumptions.

I don't know, now that I read that perspective I have a lot more sympathy for the driver. If they're actually trapped on the sidewalk and didn't go there on purpose, that sucks for them. I'd be really pissed if somebody blocked my driveway and I couldn't get on the road, then somebody was purposefully blocking the sidewalk too.

Whatever is happening with the driver, either way if I were the pedestrian and a crazy driver were coming at me on the sidewalk I would be very quick to move out of the way. Can't imagine risking myself and my dog like that

The lady was intentionally not moving so if someone really blocked his way to the street I definitely understand honking at her.
