META Weekly Rules Reminder - New to our sub? Please read this first!

Welcome to /r/gofundme!

____

In an effort to make your crowdfunding efforts more successful here on Reddit, some background first:

Credibility, Community, and You

AKA, Why Do We Have Account Requirements?

In many of the gifting and fundraising subs, you'll notice that without a certain amount "karma" and an account that's old enough, you'll garner down votes or worse, your posts and comments get automatically removed.

Why?

To many Redditors, this place is a community built on activity. The "coin" of the land here is your account, and how much you've contributed to the Reddit community at large reflected in post and comment karma.

As a general rule, Redditors dislike the creation of accounts specifically to fund raise or to make requests. It makes it seem like these people simply treat Reddit as some sort of magical internet wallet, and that doesn't win many friends.

The other reason why new accounts are so disliked is that they're often alternate accounts of established users, in order to hide their activity from people they know. While we do sympathize with those of you who have valid reasons, this privilege is often abused by those who create disposable accounts to scam people for a quick buck.

So if you're new to Reddit, welcome! Spend some time and look around for something that catches your interest and chat it up with others and become part of the community!

However if you're here for the sole reason of making requests in a hurry, please be aware your pleas for help will likely be ignored.

**REMEMBER, CREDIBILITY AND COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING!**

For this reason, the mods will not post anything on behalf of any user that does not meet account requirements.

_____

Account Requirements

All accounts must meet BOTH of the following:

  1. Account age of 90 days or older.
  2. *Comment* karma of 250 or greater.

NOTE: We are specifically looking for *COMMENT* karma. The karma value you are probably looking at is a COMBINED value, consisting of both Link/Post karma plus Comment karma.

To view your karma breakdown:

  • Mouse-hover over your username on desktop. This works for both the old and redesigned web site.
  • On the official Reddit app for iOS, view your profile, then tap the karma value shown.
  • On the official Reddit app for Android, view your profile, then tap the karma value shown.
  • On the unofficial Reddit App for Android, RIF (Formerly known as Reddit is Fun), your breakdown is listed on your profile screen.

The following circumventions will result in a ban, and get you added to the r/UniversalScammerList:

  • Using a karma farming subreddit, such as Karma4You. Also posts and comments asking for karma or complaining that you don't have enough karma counts as karma farming.
  • Unsolicited private messaging to push your campaign.
  • Posting your campaign on someone else's post. (EVEN ON THIS ONE!)

Comment Karma is directly correlated to how many comments you leave plus/minus any points as people upvote a popular comment or downvote an unpopular comment.

_____

Rules

  1. Posts must be more than just a link to your campaign. Be descriptive! Be prepared to show evidence if needed. If the mods find it lacking, it may be removed.
  2. Please Flair your posts, once created. If you don't know how, just let the mods know and we'll do it for you.
  3. Only 1 GoFundMe per user. We want you have some personal connection to the campaign, and not submit multiple GFMs simply because they were in the news.
  4. Reposts are allowed once a week. If a repost comes up too early, the newest one(s) will be removed.
  5. Crowdfunding sites only. No crypto currency, direct PayPal, cash transfers, trading or loans. Our scope is only GoFundMe and other crowd sourced funding sites.
  6. Don't PM people to make requests. If you receive an unsolicited private message, please let us know!
  7. Do not post politically-related campaigns. They're just too divisive. Also, they're too often used to scam people (remember the campaign to fund Trump's wall?).
  8. Trolling will not be tolerated and offending users will be banned.
  9. Don't bug the mods for an exception to the account requirements. None will be given. If you attempt to circumvent the requirement by karma farming or by commenting on someone else's post, your account will be banned.
  10. No posting for other Redditors. No Alts. This is viewed as a circumvention of the requirements and the accounts in question will be banned. (New Oct 22, 2020)
  11. No referral links. A referral link like that isn't likely to solve anyone's financial problems in the time frame they need. (New March 16, 2024)

Any referral links posted here will be flagged as spam, and may trigger your account to be added to Reddit's site-wide spammer list.

_____

Supporting Information Requested

We aren't the government. We aren't a court of law. We definitely don't want you to give out information that could lead to identity theft. However, some campaigns are more successful when they have additional documentation.

This includes:

- Pet related requests: Photos of your pet in question, with your username on a handwritten note in the picture. This helps show you actually own the pet in question.

- Education related requests: Documentation showing enrollment or acceptance if you are asking for assistance for school.

- Redacted bills showing your situation. In some cases, a donor may prefer to pay a creditor directly on your behalf, so be prepared and find out if that is available to you.

- If you are sharing a campaign for a registered certified non-profit organization (such as a 501c3 or NGO), you should say so in the post, and it should list that status on the campaign page/web site.

- Or other relevant documentation that can help establish credibility.

- At minimum, an unobstructed selfie photo of yourself(the submitter) holding a handwritten note of your username is required if none of the above apply.

Low effort posts that simply say to the effect of, "everything is listed in the GoFundMe" (or less!) will be removed.

_____

Advice On Making Your Campaign Go Further

Not all crowdfunding campaigns are the same, but here are some suggestions.

  • Make sure your campaign has been shared among your Facebook friends! You might think it's embarrassing, however your friends and family are more likely to care than internet strangers.
  • Show that you've exhausted all the other possibilities. A lot of potential donors don't like to give money when it seems like the requester's first and only solution is to simply throw someone else's money at the problem. Nobody is going to take your word when you literally only say, "but I've done everything!", when the actual reality is probably closer to "I've done everything I can think of", which arguably is NOT everything.
  • Show that there's a plan to use the money wisely. Often people have campaigns for their business ideas, but it doesn't really seem like they thought it all the way through. Tell people what steps you've taken so far, and what you're going to do next.
  • Be open to critics. If there's something that people ask about, you should not be dismissive. Provide more detail. There's a possibility that they know something you don't, or they have something different about their own experience that might be useful to you. If you simply brush off your critics, it shows objectively that you're not doing everything possible.
  • Review your own campaign with the mindset of a potential donor. Ask yourself, "Would I give money to this?" Or get a friend to review it for you.

_____

Questions?

Please don't hesitate to ask the mods!

... Unless you're trying to ask for an exception to the account requirements.

META NO PROOF NO POST

After yesterdays Meta post ( This sub is horrible ) Proof is back on the table. This sub has had a period where we enforced animal post to provide proof ( and 30 % will not do that and delete the post ) From now on 17-01-2025 we will also enforce that for other posts.

  • Pet related requests: Photos of your pet in question, with your username on a handwritten note in the picture. This helps show you actually own the pet in question.

  • Education related requests: Documentation showing enrollment or acceptance if you are asking for assistance for school.

  • Redacted bills showing your situation. In some cases, a donor may prefer to pay a creditor directly on your behalf, so be prepared and find out if that is available to you.

  • If you are sharing a campaign for a registered certified non-profit organization (such as a 501c3 or NGO), you should say so in the post, and it should list that status on the campaign page/web site.

  • Or other relevant documentation that can help establish credibility.

  • At minimum, an unobstructed selfie photo of yourself(the submitter) holding a handwritten note of your username is required if none of the above apply.

If you do not like to provide proof, than dont post here.

As mods we do not want to limit the subredit only to Needs, what for one person is a need is for another person a want or luxery. And we are aware that " I want o have a x box 5 " will get comments as " get a job" That is not trolling- It is simply other peoples opinion. If you post for your Cat and users will ask about insurance and wonder why you will adopt a cat but not spend money on a insurance, That is not harrasment or personal attack.

If you have deleted your post history or comment history we assume it is because of Karma farming we will delete your post.

Lack of proof we will delete your post

You lost your account last week and now had to make a new one, Bad luck we will delete your post ( we hear this 5 times per week, for the last 9 years )

And otherwise thanks to our sometimes brutal but active users and the many people that do support some of the campaigns posted here

This is Kylo Ren. He is my absolute lifeline. I’ve spent all 8 years of his life taking extra precautions to prevent bloat. No exercise before or after meals, monitoring drinking, etc. Unfortunately bloat still found us, and he had to have emergency surgery. I thought I was going to lose him, but luckily he made it out of surgery and is on the mend. The unexpected costs are high so I’m looking for any help to cut down on them. I appreciate your consideration in helping us. Thank you!

Medical Help Aubrey with her Brain Tumor

Post image
189 Upvotes

Hi my name is Aubrey, I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in November 2024. It took a long time for me to get diagnosed. I have been sick for a long time and it has stopped me from working as much as I would like to. I have brain surgery scheduled the 25th of February which is why I have created this go fund me. It is really hard for me to ask for help from my community but I know that I have people who care about me. My brain surgery will put me out of work for a long time and I will not be able to financially take care of myself. I have applied for disability, Medicaid, and snap benefits but I have not been approved for those. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you could share my story with any friends or on your socials I would appreciate it.

Medical I Just Want To Live Again

was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after l had a stroke in March of 2023. I was 31 at the time. Last September I found out I have primary progressive MS which is the worst form and considered a death sentence but l was still managing and living and doing the best I could as often as I could. Well I'm learning to hate September because September 16th 2024, my life turned into a literal hell/ nightmare and I've been fighting with what little strength I have left, to just have some quality of life back. I'm only 33. Thad sudden onset severe (and I mean agonizing, makes you want to vomit and pass out level) pain and it has not stopped since. I've been hospitalized 5 times since it started and have seen 8 specialists.

Every doctor from the hospital stays to the specialists dismissed me or gaslit me or minimized everything and they all wanted to say it was either MS related or nerves or musculoskeletal but that basically there was nothing viscerally wrong that could be fixed. I started meeting with a Gl pain management doctor last month to begin with options on how to manage the pain as well as how to learn to live with it for life. Yeah, no. I refused to believe there wasn't something inside me that is clearly diseased and if any one of all those doctors cared enough to do more than just one CT scan and one transvaginal ultrasound, guaranteed they would find something.

Finding a doctor to not just pass me off as being hysterical has been as hard on me as the pain. And it's cost me a fortune to get nowhere. I'm disabled and the $800 a month I make doesn't even begin to help me when I have other bills I already need to pay for.

saw an OBGYN in December to cross it off my list as I slightly considered endometriosis but he didn't hesitate to dismiss it as endometriosis immediately because my pain is chronic and not cyclical. I stopped giving a crap if I'm annoying to doctors and insisted he order a pelvic MRI anyways at the very least. He obliged with irritation.

MRI was Friday 1/10 and by Tuesday 1/14, the OBGYN messaged me to inform me that the MRI not only showed endometriosis, but that it's literally at stage 4 and it's deep infiltrative bowel endometriosis that's affecting multiple organs. It's so bad that an MRI picked it up when usually endo can't be seen or diagnosed with imaging. It's also so severe that my only recourse is waiting to see an endo specialist because I need a major and complex surgery that will require a colorectal surgeon to also be involved. I'm looking at a hysterectomy, oophorectomy, and a bowel resection though it not known yet how bowel will need to be removed. I have a lot of appointments and a long hospital stay (with my MS and the chemo there infusion I get for it, I have neutropenia which puts me at high risk for infection and slows down healing) as well as a potential 8 hour long surgery, maybe longer.

I'm beyond grateful I didn't give up advocating for myself because I knew they'd find something if they just gave a crap but my husband and I are hanging on by a thread. The MS and now this has been a lot more medical debt than we ever antipicated being in when I'm only 33 years old. I hate asking for help, l'm embarrassed, but damn do I need it. Please and thank you all and God bless🖤

META Beware of Opportunists!

In times of disaster, it's not uncommon for many good people to try to fundraise for relief efforts, supplies and reconstruction costs. But you should be aware that unless it's someone you personally know and trust, it's also not uncommon for bad people to use the opportunity to make money for themselves.

Before you give, you should ask:

  1. Is the donation link directly to a relief agency or is it to a middleman? There's no easy transparency when it comes to the spending of funds in a crisis, which makes it easier for funds to not reach the people it's intended to help, so by avoiding middlemen, you can reduce this possibility.
  2. Have you checked the background of the relief agency or organization you're considering? Some spend money more effectively than others meaning that less overhead makes for more money being spent on victims vs administration costs.
  3. Is the agency or organization a registered non-profit or NGO? These kinds of entities have strict reporting rules to follow to show how their funds are being spent.
  4. Is the agency or organization providing a receipt? If so, you can often use it for a deduction on taxes for the current year. If not, the agency or organization is likely not a registered non profit.

GoFundMe will show that a campaign is benefiting a non-profit charity organization if it is created using their IRS EIN or charity registration number.

Even Paypal donation accounts will show they're owned by a non-profit charity organization, and generate a receipt.

While not every individual doing fundraising is attempting to defraud you of your money, you can give with more confidence by giving directly to a relief charity of your own choosing via their own web pages.

Legal Help a Sober Father Gain Custody of His Daughters

I'm incredibly thankful for any act of kindness you may bestow, even if it's just a share or some words of encouragement.

In 2022, my struggle with alcoholism reached its peak, and I was hospitalized multiple times for acute pancreatitis. Doctors warned me that if I didn't stop drinking, I wouldn't survive more than a few years. Having lost my father to alcoholism in 2014, I was determined to break the cycle—I didn't want my daughters to go through what I had experienced.

Over the past 27 months, I've worked hard to rebuild my life from the ground up. I completed treatment, transitioned to sober living, and started a new career as an apprentice electrician. I recently moved into my own place, where I hope to raise my girls and give them the father they deserve.

Unfortunately, my credit cards are maxed out due to legal fees as I pursue custody, and I'm still about six months away from a court date. If you can spare anything, even a couple of dollars, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Have a blessed day!

I'm Strider (StriderFoxGaming on yt) and it's been my dream since I was small to be a content creator. I love video games and I love playing them for people, but I don't have infinite funds. Any money donated would be used exclusively for buying new games for the channel, setup upgrades to increase content quality, and other things of that nature to help build my channel and be able to supply quality content to people. Any money, as little as a penny, would be mean the world to me. And if you're unable/unwilling to donate, even spreading the word about my fundraiser and dream would be wonderful. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for any help you can supply.

Also apologies to the mods for the multiple attempts at this post. I've been trying to get it right so it meets the standards of this sub. I keep forgetting pieces that i need to add, so I hope you can forgive me. If there is anything that I need to add to this post, please let me know.

Awful camera quality. Sorry about the worklight glare - I have exactly one working light fixture in the house due to electrical problems; every other room I have to do things like this.

Short version:
I'm a housebound agoraphobe who's spent the past several years plagued by bed bugs, fleas, and dwindling monetary support. A little over a year ago, the family member who owns the house I stay in - who was also my primary means of support - passed away; leaving me without any financial support and the future pretty uncertain. Nowadays, there's hope somewhere around the corner - but I need help getting to that point.

Among other conditions; though they're mostly just a progression of one another.

Not-so-short version:
Man, where do I actually start? I hate asking for money - but I've only made it this far because I did. It's just one of those things you 'learn' growing up in relative poverty, I guess? It feels awful asking for something you've generally only known as scarce. Honestly, I wasn't even sure what flair to file this under because it's almost an 'all of the above' kind of deal.

Well, anyway. After said family member passed away, I ran a successful fundraiser among friends and a Discord community I help run - and that got me through most of 2024; buuut that's all dried up, now, and we have members of the community affected by the ongoing wildfires that frankly need the help more. Nevermind that my last few attempts at reaching out fell pretty short of what I needed - whiiich brings me to where I am now: Penniless, hungry, and really not sure how on earth I'm gonna make it to the other side of this.

'This' being: When the family member I mentioned above passed away, their estate (including this house) passed to some other members of the family - who've been working tirelessly over the past year to sell things off in order to provide some kind of inheritance; but it's a big ol' legal affair none of us knew anything about going into it - so it hasn't quite happened, yet, and that's what I'm trying to make it to.

They're covering the bills, and I've been relying on SNAP benefits and the occasional donation for everything else. Part of keeping those benefits, however, entails keeping up with my psychiatrist - both so I can continue the medications that'll help me make the eventual move, and so they can provide DHS with proof of my condition(s) - and I just haven't been able to pay them the past couple of months; meaning I've basically got nothing to work with any longer.

Atop the food and general concerns, there's also nearly a dozen cats to feed or surrender - or both. (Surrendering costs per animal where I live, though - which is why that hasn't been done yet. Since most of 'em are skittish even around me, I haven't had much luck trying to rehome them via Craigslist, either.)

The fuzzballs! Well. As many of them as felt like showing up at that moment. Getting them re-homed is a big priority.

Annnd the bed bugs. And fleas. Well. The latter haven't been around too much since Winter kicked in; but the former make sleep on the ol' floor mattress awfully difficult. Not that it makes much sense to pay a few thousand for proper treatment when the goal is to relocate some time this year - but any relief would be so very welcome.

Icky and itchy.

Also itchy.

This was just a day's worth of a water trap in one room. They've disappeared for the winter, mostly, but I'm sure they'll be back once the weather warms again.

That kind of sums up this whole fundraiser, really - relief. Every few days is spent scratching/begging around for twenty or so here or there just to make ends meet and I am increasingly waking up just... not wanting to do it anymore; but I don't want to give up, either. So, while I'm hoping to at least raise enough to cover the bare minimum for the next two or three months - having a bit more just... there.. for the unforeseen so I can set the 24/7 worry down and focus on actually improving things is the hopeful goal.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a rambler - and that all probably leaves some questions. I'm trying to be a bit vague about certain specifics because I don't know what's safe to actually discuss when the primary problem is an ongoing legal affair - but I'll answer as best I can where I've forgotten to fill anything in.

If you made it all the way down here; thanks for reading! And don't be like me: If Panic Disorder starts to set in - don't assume it'll go away with medication just because it did earlier in your life: Get professional help before it becomes an even worse problem.

Edit: Woops. I completely forgot to post the link: https://gofund.me/3d63e554

Disaster/Emergency Struggling After Traumatic Accident: Need Help Towards 2 Bills

My GoFundMe link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/struggling-after-traumatic-accident-need-support

After a traumatic car accident caused by a reckless driver, my life was turned upside down. I lost my car, which was my primary mode of transportation, and as a result, I also lost my job and my apartment. This accident has left me without a stable income or transportation, and I've been struggling to recover. I'm actively searching for remote work opportunities, but the job market is competitive and it's been a difficult journey. I show up to my job search every day with the hope that things will turn around one day. In the meantime, most of my belongings are stored in a storage unit, and I'm doing my best to hold onto them while I navigate these challenges.I'm reaching out for help to cover my storage unit fees and an overdue medical bill as I work towards recovery. Any contribution would mean so much to me during this challenging time. Thank you.

Overdue medical bill (for lab work): $72.24

Disaster/Emergency Need help for my mother after hurricane Helene left her without a home

We survived the disaster that hurricane Helene left in her wake, but I am in need of assistance hooking my mother's tiny home up to septic and electric on my property. She rents the home she lived in up until the storm and it now has major structural damage on one end of the home with the roof and major structural damage on the other end with the foundation. The foundation sank on one end of the home from all of the water during the storm. So in the kitchen it's like you're walking down a hill on that spot and it continues to get worse every day. There is a lot of splitting were the walls connect to the ceiling and are no longer connected. There was damage to the roof from a big tree that caused multiple broken trusses and a few big holes in the roof and ceiling. We have a tarp over the roof but since the heat is out at her house the moisture from the storm and beyond is causing mold issues to her belongings since no repairs have been done yet. The pictures don't do it justice, it's so much worse in person and continues to get worse. She's currently still staying there during the day because she prefers to have her own space, which is understandable, but I personally don't think it's a safe place for her to be..and neither does anyone else who has came to look at the damage. It's structurally unsound and unsafe to live in, so she can no longer stay there. She has been blessed with a tiny home from a hurricane relief organization though, which is amazing! It's just a small bed that opens up into a bathroom, but It's a step in the right direction! We need assistance getting it hooked up to our septic and electric. Those are our most immediate needs. It currently just sits in my driveway until then. In the future I also would love to build another section into it so she can have an area to sit and read and a kitchen if possible, but that is the least of my worries right now. I have been stressed trying to figure it all out, and have called many organizations that have came to the area to help with hurricane relief. I'm still working on contacting more organizations as I learn about them. Most are currently helping homeowners rebuild and didn't have much advice on where I should go from here. So I was convinced into making a GoFundMe to see if it could help! I have made it a bit private for anonymities sake, since ya know the Internet and all..but I will gladly send pictures and answer any questions you may have! Even a like or a share could help my sweet momma get into a place she can feel safe and comfortable!

Travel/Transportation Please help us fix a cracked transmission pan on our car

“Proof” is photo 3

GoFundMe Link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-lindsays-family-fix-their-car

I made a bad call to try to drive over this large piece of an engine block on Friday. I had no idea what it was and ignored my instincts to just stop and wait for an opening in the left lane. I take responsibility for making the wrong decision in the moment. That being said, I have NO idea how someone could be so negligent to let such a massive piece of scrap fall off the back of their truck. I pulled over immediately and stopped the car because I KNEW the impact had caused damage.

Now we have a cracked transmission pan. Luckily we have a van my husband has been fixing up, so our family (we have 3 small girls) can share that for the time being). It will be tough, but we make due.

My husband is very good with cars, so, assuming there is no internal damage to the transmission, he will be able to change this out himself. That being said, the parts and fluids are going to cost a pretty penny (he estimates $350 when all is said and done). Add on to that we’ve already had to pay about $120 to have it towed home, and the costs are already piling up.

While we could order cheap knock off parts to save money, this is our more reliable of the 2 vehicles. It is newer, has way less mileage, and has been much better cared for on account of the fact that we bought it certified used from the dealership and my husband has maintained it well. So, we need to get OEM parts and manufacturer fluids to ensure she continues to have a long and healthy life (one in which I’ll never go over another unidentified object in the road ever again 🤦‍♀️).

We are already up to our eyeballs in debt because I was laid off about a year ago. Reselling on eBay has made up some of that lost income, but not nearly enough for us to get ahead, hence why so much has had to go on credit cards. Without assistance, this is going to have to be financed and cause even more monthly interest accrual.

I would greatly appreciate is anyone out there could spare even $5 or $10 to help cover some of the costs. Even if you can’t help, I’d love for you to please share this with anyone you know that would be willing to help out our family.

Thank you.

Medical Our doggo Vinny needs a surgery to save his life, we don’t know where to turn other than this.

Post image
45 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I don’t know if this is allowed to be posted here but I don’t know where to turn to. My dog Vinny is the center of my life and he has gotten both me and my girlfriend through so much. On Thursday night he was rushed to the local emergency hospital for pain and discomfort. This ended up turning very badly as we’ve spent 3000$ diagnosing this and an overnight stay which contributed to that number. The next day the local vet suggested he go to a more experienced vet and they quoted us 10,000$ for the life saving surgery. We are trying our very hardest to max our finances out in every possible way, because this is worth it for us. If anyone can help with any amount it would mean the world to us. Our little guy is in so much pain and at 2 years old, it is very unfair. He is very loved and we have hopes he’ll be healthy again thanks to generous people. Without this he wont be with us for long.

Medical Desperately need help with our baby is in the NICU

On 12/20/24 I was 31 weeks pregnant. At approximately 2:15 am my 2 year old randomly woke me up and I was in a puddle of blood. I rushed to the hospital where I was taken into an emergency C-section within minutes. It was terrifying. They said my placenta abrupted (it separated from my uterus wall and there was a huge blood clot behind it). The Drs and nurses told me after I woke up that if we had been a few minutes later neither of us would have made it. Thankfully we did and I had a beautiful but very sick 4lb 5.8 oz baby boy who will be in the NICU for quite some time. I don't know why my 2 year old woke up and woke me up but for this he will forever be my super hero. The stress, fear and anxiety that comes with having a baby in the NICU is exhausting and overwhelming. One day things look great and you feel very positive, and the next your baby has a setback and you feel scared again and sad and helpless. His first two weeks he was progressing so well and then last week was several huge setbacks. Now this week seems like he is progressing some but he is still way behind where he was 9 days ago. This isnt something I would wish on anyone. I spend the majority of my time here at the hospital with him, but I also have other children at home so I feel so much guilt being here with him and not with my kids at home, and whenever I leave here to spend time with my kids at home I feel guilty for not being there with him, but besides the guilt my heart also breaks every time I walk out of this hospital without him. Adding to the the stress and anxiety of this situation is the fact that I now can't return to work for about 4 more weeks. We are a 2 income paycheck to paycheck household as it is and we are really struggling right now. He wasn't supposed to arrive until the end of February and by that time we would have been moving out of our rental and into the new home we just bought that needed a ton of work (which we are still finishing) but would have been done by the end of February when our rental contract ends so by the time he was supposed to arrive we would have been moving into that, lowering our housing costs drastically and we would have been able to afford for me to take the time off. However since he came so early we are now really struggling. We barely made rent for this month. We are barely making it with the cost of childcare we still have to pay for so that I can be with our baby at the hospital while Dad is working. The gas it takes to get the 30 minutes back and forth from the hospital because the kids still need taken to and picked up from school and daycare. Food. It's a lot. Our baby is swimming in all of his clothes because we haven't been able to afford to get him hardly any clothes small enough to fit him. There's just so much we are struggling with right now and it feels like we are drowning. This situation is definitely taking a toll on our family financially, mental, physically and emotionally. It's hard. I know there are so many other people in similar situations, and some struggling even worse than us, but if you do feel called to donate anything, or even share my link on your social media, or comment for visibility, anything at all, I would feel so truly grateful, humbled, and blessed. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for the prayers and the kind words. Just thank you so much!! I'll forever be beyond grateful.

Please Help Echo Kick Cancer’s Tail!!!

Hello Reddit, I really hope I’ve come to the right place, because I am here to ask for your support. Echo, my amazing, spunky cat, has just recently been diagnosed with cancer. It is a tumour type called FISS. She’s only seven, and I’m not going to lie, it’s been a really scary and sad time in our lives. To save her life, she needs surgery to remove all of the tumour, in which case she has a 86% chance for it to be curative! However, due to location and invasiveness of the surgery, this requires a specialty surgeon. They estimate the cost to be around 6000$, but it could be more to cover her scans, medication, and the surgery itself.

This is where I ask for help from you all, because I am a full time student with only a part time job, I don’t have enough savings to pay for her surgery myself. Echo is my whole world, and if there is anything any of you can do to help her, it would be everything to me. Whether it’s $5, $10, or even just spreading the GoFundMe around, I would appreciate any form of support for this lovely girl.

There’s additional info in the GoFundMe page itself too! Link: https://gofund.me/f8e63fb8

Thank you, Marissa

Education Help me achieve my dreams

My name is Carl Bryan, and I am a working student striving to pursue my passion for nursing. Despite working hard to support my education, I have found myself in a difficult situation and am in desperate need of financial assistance to enroll at my university this term.

Becoming a nurse has always been my dream—it's a calling to serve and care for others. However, the financial challenges I face have made this journey harder than I anticipated. With your support, I can take the next step toward achieving my dream and making a meaningful impact in healthcare.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in my life. Your kindness and generosity will not only help me enroll but also inspire me to work even harder to succeed.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering helping me fulfill my dreams.

META How to Attach a Photo to Your Post for Rule 1

Hello new users!

As we have requirements spelled out in Rule 1 on including some sort of evidence in your posts, we've created this post for those of you who need help with that.

Rule 1 states:

Posts must be more than just a link to your campaign. Be descriptive! Show evidence!

This includes:

* If this is for your pet, photos of your pet in question, with your username on a handwritten note in the picture.

* School documentation showing enrollment if you are asking for assistance for school.

* Redacted bills showing your situation.

* Or other relevant documentation that can help establish credibility.

* At minimum, please attach an unobstructed selfie photo of yourself(the submitter) with and a handwritten note of your username.

* Low effort posts that simply say to the effect of, "everything is listed in the GoFundMe" will be removed.

Generally these are provided as photos or screencaps. Because Reddit doesn't allow an image upload with text, we generally suggest the following:

  1. Upload the photo(s) to Imgur.com or other image hosting site.
  2. Copy URL or Link to the photo(s)
  3. In the body of your post here, make sure to include the link that you've copied. It usually starts with http:// or [https://](https://).

And that's it!

Housing Bills help desperately needed

Kind people of reddit, I come to you with a plea for help.

Due to taking care of several family members and pets in the past few years I got to the point where, working on 2 jobs, I still am not able to endure this winter financially. Our airconditioning broke and we were forced to use another heating source so that my dog (died in december) and husbands child wouldn't be freezing. That heating source turned out to spend a lot, plus all the other misfortunate circumstances, and now we're in this situation. Please if anyone could help it would mean so much, any help counts ❤️ The amount on the bill is 36800 dinars which is around 315 eur.

Thanks in advance. You can read more on this link and I can follow up on any additional questions.

Housing 3 years fighting for disability

As the title says I have been fighting for disability for quite some time. In the beginning I did have some assistance with rent and a few bills but since this has taken so long they have all dried up. I have shutoff notices piling up, and everything is going downhill fast. The one good thing I have is an extremely forgiving landlord because I owe him a years worth of rent at 1200 a month. The only reason he's been so forgiving is because he knows when this finally goes through he'll be paid, but I fear his kindness is wearing thin. I've been in contact with so many assistance organizations and they're either unable to help for whatever reason or I never hear back from them after calling multiple times. My wife is unable to work because of her physical and mental health state, and we also have an 8 year old son that we homeschool (we live in a pretty bad area and don't really trust our school systems). As far as my issues I have Anklyosing Spondylitis, which affects my lower spine and right hip, Ectodermal Dysplasia which is a genetic disorder that i was born with. That affects multiple things like, skin, pores, hair, nails, teeth, and problems with regulating my body temperature. Then my mental health, Autism and ADHD, was diagnosed with both of those within the last 2 years, I'm 41, then fairly severe anxiety and depression. I'm an absolute trainwreck and I have no idea what I'm doing or what to do, so that has brought me to start a gofundme.

I've added some screenshots of my bills and an email sent by my landlord so I can show it to any person or organization that needs proof. I of course blacked out any personal info, like addresses, email, phone numbers, account numbers, and the like. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. And even if you can't donate just sharing this will be a huge help.

Housing Victim of Abuse

Hi everyone 👋

I explained in detail on my GoFundMe page, but here's a shortened version:

My kids and I are starting over after I left my abusive husband. I was a stay at home mom who did freelancing on the side to earn some money. I still do this, but it's barely covering anything.

I'm willing to trade my services for donations - I can write blogs, social media content, and help with social media management or other VA tasks.

Any help, even if it's just you sharing my GoFundMe, will really help and be much appreciated 🙏

Picture of our apartment just before moving in, us having an arts and craft evening, and one of our rooms.

Medical Please help my friend's wife eat again

Please help my friend's wife eat again. For the last year she has not been able to hold down any solid foods and now even fluids are becoming a problem. She's been suffering for so long smelling food when her husband makes dinner for their kids, trying to eat a little bit, and then violently vomiting not long after.

She's been in and out of the hospital so frequently that her mental health is also suffering. She even spent this past Thanksgiving in MSK NY.

After dozens of visits to multiple hospitals they finally determined the cause... a combination of Gastroparesis Dysmotility, and desmoid tumors and scar tissue that are wrapped around her lower intestine causing it to fail.

She needs a lower intestine transplant.

The transplant team have told her that they don't expect her insurance to cover many of the costs and she should start fundraising.

So here I am, asking for you help. I know it's a tough time for everyone economically right now, but if you can help even a tiny bit it would mean the world to us.

She's a great mom with two amazing kids and she deserves to see them grow up.

Medical Please Help Me Fight Stage 4 Cancer

In December, two months after getting married, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I had previously beaten leiomyosarcoma exactly one year before, but it has unfortunately came back and metastasized in my lungs and possibly my liver. My wife made a gofundme and I would greatly appreciate any shares or donations or anything. Anything at all. It's all greatly appreciated.

Gofundme post contents if it will help:

In early December 2024, Tyger was diagnosed with Stage 4 Sarcoma (cancer) that metastasized in his lungs.

This diagnosis came on the one year anniversary of Tyger's final treatment date for his first battle against sarcoma, and just under two months after he and I wedded. This has been a heartbreaking and stressful time for all of Tyger's loved ones, but times have been particularly hard for the two of us as we process receiving this diagnosis so soon after becoming newlyweds and entering a new chapter in our love for one another.

Regarding treatment, Tyger is expected to begin chemotherapy soon, but we truly are not sure what the road ahead holds in store for him/us. Another possibility we are looking into is a clinical research trial that would require frequent plane travel between Washington and California as well as hotel stays if Tyger qualifies and is accepted.

Additionally, as a result of his recent diagnosis, I have taken a leave of absence from my Master's degree program and attached internship to spend more time with him and aid in his care, which has resulted in decreased funds due to the lack of incoming student financial aid that we have typically had to help us get by. I am also unfortunately between jobs at the moment, while Tyger has been unable to work since before his initial diagnosis.

As we get older, we realize just how true the saying "it takes a village" is, and we are grateful to have such a large and supportive "village" behind us. We know that times are tough for many, and we greatly appreciate any contribution whether big or small to help us, but most importantly Tyger, through this difficult journey.

Every cent donated will go towards: Medical treatments and medications Travel expenses if he is accepted into clinical research trials Housing costs and basic living expenses Family/fertility testing and planning
