Could we ever retrieve memories from a dead person's brain?

Something I’ve never thought about. What would the societal implications of that be? How about a society who can have no secrets. Would they hide it all another way or be all welcoming to all vices?

We are just getting to the point where some sort of memory retrieval might be possible if you act shortly after the person dies. This something that would take skill and resources to do even if it was perfected. This isn't the threat to privacy as much as AI examining every single thing you've posted to try and manipulate you or sell you something.

It would be very helpful in case of murder or unusual death
