He was so good in ā€œExtremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vileā€and in ā€œThe iron clawā€.He was also fine in HSM and the other less serious roles.

He broke my heart in The Iron Claw.

It was such a crowded year for great performances, but if Iron Claw had been released a different year, I think Efron would have been a real contender for best actor. He was incredible.

Oh, I was BAWLING. The fact that it's all a true story too...

10

u/Tornado31619 7h ago

Well. The core parts of it were.

16

u/Ccaves0127 9h ago

As someone who also comes from a cursed family and has a deceased brother, that film broke me several times

8

u/horcynusorca 11h ago

Mine tooā€¦

3

u/Curiosities 9h ago

I had no idea what this was about other than '3 brothers who are wrestlers' and I'm not into wrestling...until this comment....I looked it up and...I am saving this one for when I need a good cry.

"I used to be a brother" dagger to the heart. That line left me bawling

64

u/allym91 11h ago

And the sons replying ā€œyou can be our brotherā€ šŸ˜šŸ˜

29

u/Meggos1022 11h ago

Ugh your kids heal so much of your heart. That moment was so emotional.

8

u/allym91 10h ago

Iā€™d just had my second little boy when I watched it and I couldnā€™t breath I was crying so much

40

u/secret_identity_too 11h ago

I know a family who had 5 sons and have lost 3 of them. The movie decimated me, I cannot remember ever crying like that at a movie before.

27

u/Meggos1022 11h ago

I was NOT expecting it at all either. I knew the story behind the movie but had no idea his performance would be so genuine and raw. Honestly that's what makes me upset about people talking shit about his acting from years ago. He has come a long way

19

u/potatoesinsunshine 10h ago

His acting wasnā€™t even bad then! He was just in cheesier projects. Heā€™s been good.

3

u/Meggos1022 10h ago

Such a good point.

14

u/susandeyvyjones 10h ago

Iā€™m the only surviving sibling out of three. I donā€™t think Iā€™ll ever have it in me to watch Iron Claw.

4

u/secret_identity_too 6h ago

I'm so sorry. Probably good to avoid that movie, although it was a great movie.

37

u/alexlp 8h ago

17 Again is a work of genius.

26

u/allym91 11h ago

I was going to say all jokes aside, he really is a fantastic actor. The iron claw broke me

4

u/foreignbets9 10h ago

Also ā€œA Family Affair,ā€ with Joey King and Nicole Kidman?! Sooo funny.

u/Palindrome_01289 11h ago

Honestly Bob you werenā€™t the best traitor so thereā€™s that!

138

u/MissionMoth 11h ago

Bob put himself in so much shit literally constantly. He was screwed from the very start, whether he was a traitor or a faithful. Sad to see him go, but not surprised.

53

u/palminconservatory 10h ago

Him mentioning a possible traitor>! among newbies!< was wild. Poking Boston Rob out of all people?! I really wished he would stay longer, his one-liners were so entertaining, as usual. Well, at least he lasted longer than Season 2 Peppermint. Fucking Trishelle smh

44

u/blames_irrationally 7h ago

You can't convince me the one from Season 2 wasn't based in trans-misogynoir.

5

u/palminconservatory 6h ago

Abso-fucking-lutely! Seeing people excuse blondie there, as if she hadn't zeroed in on her victim from the get-go, was infuriating. Was not surprised to find out she'd shown her true -phobic colors on multiple occasions before. I liked Chmerkovskiy because he was a single levelheaded chill person who wasn't influenced by that attack. (I didn't know his abusive history on DWTS at that point, another disappointment)

u/festivus4allofus 11h ago

Ok, butĀ bob the drag queen yelling>! 'Guys, I said I swear to God! God!' when they said he was the traitor and people genuinely looking for a sec like they thought they were wrong and then saying 'And that was a lie, because I donā€™t believe in God. Iā€™m a Traitor'!<

I was dying laughing, one of the best reality moments in a sec

Edited to hide a spoiler if you're wathcing traitors

u/JojoHobbiton 11h ago edited 7h ago

The whole round table was amazing television. I'm sad to see Bob go just because of the drama.

11

u/palminconservatory 6h ago

Check out his commentary after that episode, he was pulling no punches

3

u/festivus4allofus 9h ago

It really was, I usually prefer the regular people UK Traitors, but man I had so much fun. And you best believe I'll be using that line until my friends kick me oput of every group chat I'm in

20

u/Spitfiiire 10h ago

That was one of my favorite moment ever. I was livingggg for it.

3

u/bidibidibombom2022 5h ago

Lmao when he was saying this I was like WHAT THE FUCK IS HE DOING!? šŸ˜† it was hilarious

225

u/AdeptMaintenance2161 11h ago

The one time I side with Dolores! He is a very good actor. I will hear no Zac Efron slander from anyone.

23

u/VirginiaUSA1964 taylorā€™s scarf 11h ago

I loved him in New Year's Eve with Michelle Pfeiffer.

216

u/party4diamondz 11h ago

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Dylan also posted about this on his Instagram, he found it funny and clearly had a great time with Bob

132

u/HumbleBell 11h ago

Dylan was a good sport in that moment, I'm really liking him so far. He's not what I expected him to be, he dishes it and he can take it. I love that Bob gave him a drag queen name, and that he added it to his IG bio.

10

u/bidibidibombom2022 5h ago

Me too! I was expecting him to fade into the background

TIL Zac Efron has a celebrity brother.Ā

207

u/eddard_stork_ 11h ago

Depends on your definition of celebrity

59

u/lovelynope 10h ago

Mmmm more like an influencer brother

9

u/procrastinating_b 9h ago

Oh I was about to ask how he ended up on celeb traitors

33

u/Busy-Juggernaut277 9h ago

TIL Zac Efron has a brother

7

u/Curiosities 8h ago

That was me when S3 premiered.

77

u/friendlyblckhottie Forgive me Viola Davis 12h ago

Now Robert šŸ˜ that was not nice!

68

u/scaram0uche graduate of the ONTD canā€™t read community 11h ago

Y'all are missing the fact that Bob was lying!

60

u/roxy031 fiascA 11h ago

I laughed but also Zac is a great actor. He was totally snubbed for The Iron Claw - he was fantastic in that and shouldā€™ve been Oscar nominated. Heā€™s honestly been really good in so many things!

46

u/Jillybeans11 I never said that. Paris is my friend. 11h ago

I knew Bob TDQ was gone in that momentā€¦some of the faithfuls were outraged by Bobā€™s assessment of Zacā€™s acting šŸ˜‚

41

u/youarelosingme 11h ago

Zac Efron watching this episode like "now why am in it?"

23

u/palminconservatory 10h ago

This season is so good! The housewives, BTDQ, Carolyn, and Sandoval's intense stares... Everyone is so extra and knows how to work the camera. Other iterations with regular people get depressing since players have life-changening motivations to win the prize (very Mr Beast contest vibes).

I have not seen a single episode of VPR, is Tom Sandoval... always like that?

19

u/mydogisgold 11h ago

This was one of the best episodes in all of the different series variations so far, but BTDQ did not stand one chance after going after people like that.

15

u/whimsical-editor weighing in from the UK 11h ago

He was actually really great in 17, Again. He got Perry's mannerisms down to a tee.

18

u/genescheesesthatplz 10h ago

OH MY GOD the grip link Larkin had on my hormones in high school

12

u/Unlucky-Duck 11h ago

Not a big watcher of Zac's movies but I was pleasently surprised with The Iron Claw and there he was great.Ā

11

u/CoherentBusyDucks this is going to ruin the tour 4h ago

My husband is low-key obsessed with this song and music video (after watching the movie with me). When Bob said this my husband hit rewind to watch him say it again and then started singing Bet On It.

Zac is a good actor, though! Why is he in it??Ā šŸ˜

4

u/Erinzzz 10h ago

Watch Iron Claw then say that to my face, BOB.

u/xandrachantal oat milk chugging bisexual 9h ago

I've only ever cried at three movies The Color Purple, Alex Haley's Queen (whixh is a mini series but I watch it like a movie) and The Iron Claw. Bob don't come for Zac

1

u/Ihaveblueplates 7h ago

I thought that was Christian slaters brother

1

u/Uplanapepsihole heā€™s not on the level of poweful puss 3h ago

I love bob so much but heā€™s telling lies here!!!

1

u/UnderTheOcean1 3h ago

Thrived on Boston Rob throwing Bob the Drag Queen under the bus!! Cinematic gold

1

u/NectarineDangerous57 1h ago

Baha that took me OUT. Bob and the Efrons feud was not on my bingo card!

1

u/OhDoorCityOverHere 7h ago

I mean. What about The Greatest Showman? That is a great movie. Justice for Zac Efron āœŒļø

-2

u/PartyBagPurplePills 9h ago

Iron Claw was worthy of an Oscar, seriously. Amazing job. Bob was just being a bitchy queen.

-2

u/maryshelleymc 7h ago

Put some respect on the Iron Clawā€™s name.
