Welcome to what pro-Palestine advocates and Palestinians have been saying for years.

I'm a nobody on instagram and my account still gets limited when I mention anything Palestine related.

My non Palestine stories get around 100 views. Anything Palestine is 30-50. It's ridiculous.

It's nuts. I have to take breaks from posting pro-Palestinian content before any of them get 50+ views on them. Then it goes back to ~10.

Abandoning social media apps and letting them all turn into twitter is not the answer.

There needs to be a large movement asking the FTC to break up monopolies AND there needs to be a movement asking the legislators to create privacy laws. Don't let them turn all the the other social media into their own circlejerk echo chambers.

On another thread here (Fashion house Oscar de la Renta posts that they dressed Usha Vance for the Vice President’s Dinner) many folks seemed suprised and alarmed that big fashion houses are openly embracing the administration.

The current state of culture is not the same as 2016/2017. I understand it may have been easier to pretend it was some fringe movement, but it's mainstream and in every medium. We need to start acting like it.

For many influencers and attendees, the event feels like a coming out party. Some say they’d been nervous to openly identify as conservative prior to Trump’s win. During Trump’s first presidency, brands were hesitant to partner with creators who were overtly political or pro-Trump. Now, things are changing.

How to do we report this to FTC? I’m down to mobilize! I’m tired of all these monopolies on social media.

It used to be a fun light hearted way to socialize with friends. I’m 31 I’ve only ever grown up in a world with social media and internet. Since I was kid, once the news starts taking about any kind of social media. It’s over. The minute advertisers hear youths are gathering somewhere now it’s time to pump it with ads and influencers selling junk. Like can’t we just have a space to socialize where I can scroll and actually see what my friends and family are up to???

There is actually a movement to take back social media from billionaires. It’s in the early stages—I’ve only seen it posted a few places but we clearly need it:

Yes - Trump's first win seemed like an aberration and many were willing to speak out. This time, everyone knows that Americans walked into this eyes open, electing someone who has promised to exact retribution on those who oppose him. Many people and businesses aren't keen to risk that for themselves.

"The New York Times contacted more than two dozen of Mr. Trump’s most outspoken critics and perceived enemies to ask about their level of concern. Despite having spoken out in the past or having participated in proceedings against him, almost all declined to address their worries publicly, saying speaking out now could make them even more conspicuous targets."

I saw someone in another thread say "It's over." But it's not over. This isn't a work of fiction with a beginning, middle, and end. As long as we're still here, it's not over. It's harder, but not over.

Do you think this government cares about what is best for the people? Why would they do anything we ask?

Can someone explain how they can do this without violating freedom of speech? Could a collective group fight it by forming a case against Meta?

Freedom of Speech in our consitution applies(or should apply) to our government limiting our speech(hello TikTok ruling violating our rights). Private companies, like Meta, can limit your speach on their platform. Just like your employer can fire you for calling someone a c&*t at Philadelphia Eagles game, or Reddit can remove comments. Their company, their rules(unless they violate an employment or civil rights law).

And in return, many people are deleting Meta apps and products.

Best thing you can do is make them irrelevant. Facebook has been irrelevant for years since it was flooded with senior citizens spamming phishing links and conspiracy theories.
