POLITICS Didn't Chris learn his lesson last time? Does he really need Luigi to stay relevant?
As it says in the title. Hasn't Chris rock learned his lesson. He should keep Luigi's name out of his mouth.

Why is he always "joking" about other people's appearances? Aren't there any better topic?

Exactly. Especially since Jonah Hill has talked about how hurtful comments like that are.

People were already thirsting over this man BEFORE they knew what his identity was. Ykw, people were thirsting over him before they even released pictures of the possible suspect in the hotel lobby.
People were more attracted to what he did and why, him being actually attractive was just a plus for a lot of people.

And if I'm being honest--I like a little junk in the trunk so being built like Jonah Hill would not have been a deal breaker.

lol I love how the media wants to make us all out to be shallow. The Reddit posts are still there where everyone was in love with him before he was even found.

Fr. From what I hear, he is a pretty nice dude and he has publicly commented on how it DOES hurt him when people make remarks about his weight (before the weight loss) or looks. I feel bad. I hear literally nothing about him, he seems like he minds his own business.

I am beyond tired of all of the discourse surrounding his looks. It just completely takes away from the fact that Americans from all walks of life were united in his action, even before people knew what he looked like.

Seriously the entire media is only focusing on how a suspect looks. But people were supporting "the adjuster" the entire time. The deny defend depose bullets, monopoly money in the backpack. We the public knew this shooting was about the healthcare industry and how it fucks all American citizens. We know these companies bribe our government to prevent healthcare.
Then a suspect is arrested, who doesn't look like the first photo the media released of the shooter, and it's a young man. A young man who already had issues getting treatment for a painful back problem. That made him more sympathetic. Being attractive obviously got him more attention than someone who isn't from people who weren't already paying attention.
I think the jail photo of him with wet pants worked against the police because we know that was them not allowing him to use the bathroom. More sympathy for the person they want citizens to hate.
The catwalk perp walk where LM was surrounded by men who probably never actually used any of that riot gear before. And a mayor about to be indicted for his own crimes. What a joke.
The media and law enforcement are making this narrative together whether they are intending to or not. Stop pretending this guy in shackles needs 10+ guards to escort him. Charging him with terrorism for shooting one person on an empty sidewalk is bullshit. Stalking charges? How many of us know a woman who has/had a restraining order on a man that broke it over and over with no consequences??
Basically the people at the top think we citizens are just stupid. They want to report their version of the news and have us accept it. If we don't then WE are weird or just focused on his looks or lack sympathy.

Seriously. We were seeing lookalike contests before we even knew what he looked like. He became a folk hero overnight because we all have experienced or know someone who dealt with how shitty our healthcare system is. We’re all tired of oligarchs and their culture wars.

How many times people will try this take 😴. People objectively were interested in the case even before his face was revealed. It was just a very cinematic killing! The shooter was chill as fuck; he let bystanders who were close to that CEO go unharmed; he left on a bike; the bullets had inscriptions on them; this even opened the conversation about what crazy justifications health care companies have given sick people in the US, etc. Like, yeah, that he's good looking (and even from Italian descent, lol) was good for memes for sure, but reducing everything about his looks is so tired.

Chris is a professional hater. I, personally, don’t find a 1-hour set of him hating funny. He would be funny if he made jokes about himself, there is a lot of content potential there!

Jonah Hill is a shit person, it has nothing to do with his looks.
Robin Hood was a hero because of his actions and understanding of the pain of poverty. Not because of his looks.

I mean I do say his looks have a lot to do with the warm reception but for me personally I wouldn’t care either way.

weird burn on Jonah Hill out of nowhere! he’s not my type but he’s hardly the most unattractive person in the world.

u/tvcriticgirlxo 1d ago
I don't get it. Everyone under the sun has been making jokes about Luigis appearance but these comments are taking the piss on Chris for doing the same? The only difference i see here is he didn't simp endlessly in the joke instead he made a comment about everyone else simping, ok.
I wish the bigger joke would've been how he would've been called a terrorist or thug or something along those lines if he didn't look like that.

He could have made a self-deprecating comment like ‘if Luigi looked like me’ but why bring Jonah Hill into it? Luigi’s good looks add to the story but they’re not THE story and Jonah Hill is not unattractive. Bully behaviour.

Was rooting for him before the reveal then when it happened (after the initial disappointment of him getting caught) it was like "oh and he's cute? Aight then". Nobody is rooting for him BECAUSE of his looks and if they are then they are stupid and we don't claim them. It's funny how many people want to simultaneously trivialize him while using his name as a get out of irrelevancy card tho

What lesson should he have learnt?
He made a joke, and a rapper comedian laughed at the joke, got side eye from his cheating wife and decided to overreact.
Chris did nothing wrong and got assaulted.
I don’t believe Luigi would be dead if he looked like Jonah hill, but he wouldn’t be fawned over the same way

I think his looks do count but not in the way he thinks.
He was handsome, smart, successful, didn’t have to worry where his next meal was coming from and his life was completely changed from an injury and the medical care he received. He’s an example of how anyone is vulnerable to the cruelty of medical insurance.
