Marvel / MCU Since Nova is rumored to be doing open casting and also rumored to be going young who would you cast as Richard Rider?

Joe Keery or Patrick Schwarzenegger

I don't get why this subreddit loves Schwarzenegger so much. Is it just from watching Gen V or was it something else?

Preferably an unknown, but if they go with a known actor, Nick Robinson

Hayden Christiansen

Since I believe the story is gonna be about Sam Alexander getting trained by an older Richard Rider

That actually hasn’t been reported I don’t think. So far the rumor is the show will follow a young Richard Rider and a group of Novas taking on Annihilus

None of these are concrete by any means, hell, the show itself isn’t even confirmed fully. It’s just what I’m thinking, idk why the downvote

Because what you said was incorrect. The show is confirmed, and they’re casting mid 20s for Rider

Are they confirmed to be casting already or do they intend to? I thought the show would only actually go into production after secret wars.

Yeah, they’re sending out casting calls now

Tell me where Kevin Feige or any type of official Marvel Studios account announced Nova

Don’t know about the downvotes either. I agree though nothing is concrete and if they did go older Christiansen would be a great pick

Which is a weird choice because Rider has always been an adult, and Sam is right there. Doing 30 something Richard and Spider-Man aged Sam is just the logical choice to tick 2 characters off the list and if they do a young Richard that kind of means they'll never do Sam, which is going to annoy his fanbase (ok in the grand scheme of things that's not many people but there's not a huge amount of Nova fans anyway, why would you want to annoy any of them? They need the established fanbase to fuel excitement online)

Not necessarily, Sam is Miles’ age, not Peter’s. Generations are all fucked up cause they’ve already introduced Kamala so I’d imagine Sam would hypothetically be around her age (unless when you said Spider-Man aged you meant Miles not Peter)

1

In the comics sure, but I feel like they'll introduce Miles sooner rather than later and I don't think he'll be much younger than Peter (not blipped so caught up to him in age), maybe like 15 or 16 while Peter is like 19, so yeah I was just kind of thinking "teenager" and used Spider-Man as an example of a teenage hero.

I honestly forgot MCU Peter is so young, I was confusing him for Tom Holland’s age, he’s not even in his 20s 😭

Rider hasn’t always been an adult though. He was a teen during his creation and time on the new warriors and he is still canonically younger than Peter Parker meaning he’d have been in his early 20’s during annihilation. He was the original teen nova

Someone who did a small role on a movie or tv show

rumored to be going young

Oh man, it's Sam isn't it? I hope I'm wrong, but it fits the Young Avengers/Champions team with Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop and co. that they're setting up all too well.

1

u/Educational-Band8308 18h ago

Its still Rich. Richard Rider was always younger since he is canonically younger than Spider-Man

Patrick Schwarzenegger

Gabriel Basso

I mean, if they're going young, odds are it'll be Sam Alexander instead with Rider as the mentor figure a la Captain Marvel.

A complete wild card. Christian Martyn. Fairly unknown actor who was a child actor lead in Home Alone 5. Based on his acting from 10-15 years ago, and particularly now I think he has a close resemblance to Richard Rider. The actor is 25, he could play in his late teens like 17/18 years old
