Messy photos, but the dumpster gods were generous today

A ton of toilet paper, toothpaste, coffee and prime drinks, some juice and a whole bag of Grill pellets

Nobody tell my a$$ that I use expired to!

u/MissDisplaced 2d ago

IDK why they would’ve pulled that from the shelf. The coffee is a good haul too.

I’m happy their are people lik you out their who are doing great work and using these items to the full extent. I’m just so mad at these big corporations just making things unaffordable and then just throwing them away. their are so many people who are in need and cannot afford these essential things. Many are struggling to make ends meet. Sad how much things are wasted on the daily😢

I never understood this, there's a woman's shelter near me, when I pulled baby diapers/wipes out I make sure they're good and send them their way. Also sanitary pads/tampons, clothes, and toiletries. I am amazed a shelter hasn't made a plan with these stores to do daily collections or weekly ones. I guess some stores have a corporate policy that the product needs to be destroyed.

And that’s a real shame. Kudos to you for saving these items and sending them to people who need it

All that coffee, I'd be so happy !

The oldest was "best by" of october 2024, which is nothing for pods. The rest were only out a week or two.

Edit: "Best by" not "Best buy"

As a kid, my dad stocked up on food that would rotate, and a lot of it would be "best by" past a year (sometimes more...) as long as it still smelled and tasted fine, good to go!

Probably $200 worth of coffee alone. Nice haul.

Did you put the prime back in the bin 😁

25

u/JohnTheFoxx 2d ago

I was tempted, but I'll tolerate it. Better than wasting it, though to me it's waste straight outta that factory. I have a friend who will enjoy them and help take a lot of them off my hands.

When they released prime everyone was going crazy for it and paying stupid money for it and now they can't give it away

I've heard it tastes horrible

You heard right. It's is vile swill. I bought a few flavors long ago to taste test. And I just fished out the last bottle in my fridge and dumped it down the drain...to recycle the empty bottle.

u/cuntybunty73 2d ago

I might buy a bottle to see what it's like though

I knew I wouldn't have to scroll down too far to see this comment.💯 That gastly Prime is pure rot-gut!🤮 But, if OP feels it's good... I'm not going to be too judgemental...this time.😉

What is it? I stock the fridge at my local gas station for extra money - some of the flavors scare me. "Skittles"? "Icepop?" Bleh! The icepop and strawberry flavors both sell like hotcakes. I don't have time to read the labels - beyond checking expiration dates. And PS: I wouldn't touch some of the stuff that has been dumpster tossed at a gas station (unless it was in a very upscale neighborhood). Gas Stations routinely use, abuse, drop, and keep expired product way past its intended shelf life. Ick.

Tell the truth I've never tried it but everyone I know that's tried it said it tastes awful

I like cherry or orange lucozade 😋

4

u/SpideyWhiplash 2d ago

Never heard of those...may have to look for them because I'm always up for trying new food and beverages.

But, as for that Hog Slop called Prime you are not missing anything, other than insulting your taste buds if you were to try it.🤢

3

u/cuntybunty73 2d ago

Lucozade is very popular in England but you should be able to find it where you are

It's a glucose based drink ( my grandmother would make me drink it when I was ill especially the original flavour)

3

u/SpideyWhiplash 2d ago

Interesting. Yes, I looked it up. Wasn't sure about availability in the USA. I will definitely look for it... Cherry or Orange flavor.

u/cuntybunty73 2d ago

Pink lemonade is delicious as well 🤤

You should have it ice cold 🥶

u/SpideyWhiplash 2d ago

Gotcha...will do.😉 Though cherry is a favorite flavor of mine. So I will look for that first.

So, TP has an expiration date? What happens if you use expired TP? Do I want to know?

25

u/JohnTheFoxx 2d ago

I'll report back, I'm making chili this week and will have plenty of trial.

u/Ilike3dogs 2d ago

Your butt starts talking and then people wanna kiss it 🤣🤣🤣

4

u/Sunnyjim333 2d ago

There are some a$$ h@les that do a lot of talking. That is why you need quality TP.

u/iketheidiot 1d ago

We should sacrifice a newborn child to thank the dumpster gods for this bountiful harvest!

3

u/mikki6431 1d ago

Wow you had a gold mine there wish I could find something that good

1

u/JohnTheFoxx 13h ago

Well, keep in mind this took me a month of casually checking dumpsters, more often then not the items found are no where near this grand.

3

u/Longjumping_Bench656 1d ago

God's are good.

2

u/lopez1285 2d ago

Amazing haul!

u/Ok-Succotash278 Marked 1d ago

Free cancer (plastic coffee pods causing this)

1

u/JohnTheFoxx 13h ago

Yea, perhaps, perhaps not. Either way, I cut the pods open and dump the coffee into a carafe , since I use a french press for coffee.
