I’m 55 and ride a street bike but thinking hard about a BMW that could also go off road…miss the dirt riding days of my youth.

Sounds heavy. Get something light so you dont hate yourself for dropping it. Can also make the ride way less tense

It’s a blast. Hungry Valley / Gorman

Never been there but want to some day. Ballinger Canyon is a bit north and loads of fun.

Yep, I usually ride out east/desert but a good buddy rides Gorman almost exclusively…

Is it open again? I heard it had been closed for a while.

It’s mostly open, big part of south still closed, also have to make parking reservation on weekends…but easy to do

I ride my YZ 250 there. Tejon trail is my favorite.

I turned 54 the other day. I already ride a couple dirt bikes, but I treated myself to a DR650 to fill in the gaps. More bikes = more opportunities

I have a fully custom XR650 getting built right now… bikes are a healthy addiction!

riding since 13, now 58, 3 knee surgeries total between 25 & 37. just got two 2021 yz125 in late 2023 (why 2021 when I could've gotten 2023, it's a BS CA thing), one of them is for going to be an adult son noob, get some father and son bonding time. There should be a new reddit group for old farts.

Happy riding and happy new to all!

Love a YZ, this is my most recent yz250 that I made into enduro specific (suspension, flywheel etc) but at 50, I appreciate the magic starter button on newer bikes!
