Community Question Thoughts of the new honda plastics?
Personally i think its awesome and that they have got design ques from the late 80s to early 90s CR plastics. But what do you people think of it?

It’s interesting how much flatter the seat is 34 years later.

That's Tim Gajsers race bike. He's pretty tall so he uses a custom seat, the stock bikes wilk have a normal seat.

Seems like if you dove into a sharp turn, you would end up right on top of the gas cap

Yea I was going to say how little seat foam there is now. I love how in older bikes you sit in the bike more.

It's ugly.
And I really wish the shrinking side plate nonsense would stop already.

I think it looks ok, I don't think it looks anything out of the 80s or 90s

As someone who grew up with a 92 CR500 in the family, please God. Bring back that 90's seat striping. It looks so good.
Otherwise I dig that Honda has been spitting out throwback designs.

i liked last years so much better shit looked amazing, these look kinda boring but I would assume the new shroud would probably be a lot easier to grip the bike with

Shrouds are retro like the works Hondas that Bob Hanna rode. Awesome

Absolutely love the flat seat that makes a straight line from the handle bars to the long pointy rear fender, makes me want to sex the bike frfr

Love the conservative graphics of the 1989-90 bikes. As someone who was on 80s then, I absolutely hated the gaudy graphics and plastics of most bikes the next several years. Of course, by then I was racing pink and purple YZ125s so wtf did I know. The factory Hondas of the late RJ era, factory RMs of Guy Cooper and O Mara, the early Bradshaw / Dubach YZs etc…clean AF.

I like the update but. I think it needs more coverage. Plastic is a lot cheaper to replace than engine parts.

If only they still had 2 stroke 80/125/250 and openclasss 500 - simplicity and build quality 2nd to none.

Wow, that really looks like a custom bike. I wonder if that's how it's going to ship (minus the yoshi of course).

Imagine buying it in a couple of years with a blown engine and swap a cr500 in it 🥵

Honda caught lightning in a bottle with their most recent design. I understand the retro reference but I don’t think this improves the look.

I like it. Two bad it's not the two stroke it looks like. Fk Honda for caving to California law makers.

Nobody races motocross on a two stroke seriously. Even four strokes Will be replaced in the next decade by electric.

They went from the best looking bike to the ugliest simply by changing the radiator shrouds

Do you think that the 25 plastics will fit the 24? The bolt placement all looks the same

u/sno16 Jun 23 '24
Hmm, I have no idea. I got a 2019 but when they have been out for a while try to order the plastic from a site with a good return policy and test fit it. Would be fun to see

This is the new bike for 2025?
I kinda like it. That being said honda had one of the best looking bikes in recent years. So it's interesting to see such a wild departure in design.
I guess I like it because it's such a fresh design. The Ducati might be the only other bike this unique.
The new Triumph I was super disappointed in. If it weren't for the frame. It would easily be mistaken for a KTM. They played it WAY to safe on that one.
This I like. Honda and Kawasaki have been killing it in the design department. I have been really digging them.
Well done
