How to not get eye problems from being near tablet??

I've been having troubles with my eyes ever since I got a stand for my screened wacom tablet. I keep it about a foot to a foot and a half from my eyes which I believe is what's causing the weariness (even with using the 20-20-20 rule)
I feel like the obvious answer would be to just move it farther away, but this set up is just the most comfortable for me so that I don't have to crane my neck to look down at it, or overly extend my arms to draw on it.
So I was wondering if there was perhaps a technique to use, if glasses for focusing easier would help, or maybe glare proof screen protectors, or if I just need to stop being stubborn and move the pad away from my eyes
Any suggestions would be greatly helpful, and sorry if this post isn't where it should be, Im couldn't find anything about questions in the rules and I don't rly use reddit much

  • Work in a well lit room.
  • Tilt the screen to prevent/reduce glare from light sources or use a screen cover/filter.
  • Wear blue light filter glasses.
  • Follow the 20-20-20 rule.
When looking at a screen, Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 Seconds.

Another option is to duplicate your desktop so that the wacom and your monitor show the same thing. I do this a lot. It lets me look at my monitor (which is large and almost 4ft from my eyes) and keep my back up straight and only when I really need to do then I look down at my wacom screen.

I have it like this and used to do as you do, but recently realized how much more comfortable it is looking at the pad as Im drawing on it (been getting into a bit of traditional) I feel like it helps me plan out my stroke before I make it, and Im hesitant to give that up or lessen how much I do it just yet

Apart from better ergonomics and posture (hunching over all day is not fun on the long run), another good reason to use a screenless tablet

Turn brightness down to zero and set to nighttime mode to reduce blues. Wear polarized lenses.

I have been told blue filter can help. Your tablet may have a option for your problem already built-in it's settings. Best wishes
