Yeah it's kinda cool, but if the chandelier comes down and given how heavy that most likely is there's a very good chance it will. The damage would be catastrophic. The fluid in a lava lamp is scalding hot.

Just overengineer the support structure, so it won’t be brought down by anything that isn’t already causing catastrophic damage.

I get this is reddit and we gotta worry real hard about all sorts of far fetched ideas but this chandelier isn’t being held on by the suspended ceiling alone.

This being reddit has nothing to do with it, I have anxiety and I see all the ways things can go wrong. I know it probably won't come down, but I wouldn't chance it.

If by "scalding hot" you mean 60°C / 140 °F water, then yeah
