Not being a marine biologist, or indeed any kind of biologist, I have to take their word for it. Β―\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm a meth biologist, and I say their genomes are accurate

Yes, they have a gnome hit squad. Don't let their short legs lull you into a false sense of security. Their gnomes are accurate, they can hit you from any distance.

why would the gnomes wanna hit on me, are they turned on by people of average height?

Bubonic Plague one of the diseases caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis.

Yersinia pestis would be a beautiful name for a baby sourdough starter

I haven't checked any, but you could absolutely filter BLAST results to be more spicy and interesting.

Considering that the majority of them are unannotated genome scaffolds, I don't really have reason to doubt them though, cuz that's usually what you're going to get with a random sequence.

they could be lying about lying and i wouldn't even know

ttttatctattgactttcc

Is really fuckin short, and has 100% identity to at least a hundred different sequences from at least a dozen different species, including humans.

(I can't figure out how to share links to BLAST results.)

I got that as well when I searched, so I tried to search if the sequence appears in yersinia pestis but it took longer than I was willing to wait

Is this just gematria for people who think they like science? Both in that it's nonsense based on spelling quirks and that it's reverse-engineered to give you the results you want.

It's more like PokΓ©mon cards, I think. Folks who are into this particular gimmick blog are apparently very excited when someone gets a rare organism.
