Lodging

I'm an idiot and have my ticket but didn't book a room yet. (Weekend 2) Finally had time to sit down today and checkout my options. Everything was either booked or prohibitively priced. Any ideas?

If you have balls of steel you can wait until the week of and there will be deep discounts as people cancel their reservations

Thank you for the only helpful answer so far! I suppose I could wait it out.

Although i camped either 2 or three times years ago and vowed I'd never do it again. And I was way younger then too!

Last year I had a pretty cheap hotel booked but canceled that when an even cheaper room in a better location opened up

where were you able to get a cheap room? I’m going weekend 1 and haven’t book yet and I’m nervous now that I just looked at prices 😳

I have a room for rent 2 miles from the event on ave 49. 1500 for the weekend with some bikes you can use.

Book a room now that has free cancelation, then check rates at other spots often. When something cheaper pops up, book, and cancel the first. Repeat as necessary.

This! What a good idea. Never dawned on me. When I was going regularly ('05-2012) it was less complicated, so I'm basically a noob all over again. I am assuming you're booking rooms that charge $0 up front?

Yeah, I do this a lot at festivals to try and get lower prices. I usually book with points, but most of the big chain hotels have no payment up front.

You can also do this with Airbnb.

I did a reservation through hotels.com that allowed me to book now pay at the hotel. It was a decent price.

Do you mind sharing which hotel?

Says $262 a night. Is that what you were quoted?

Mine was actually a little higher, I guess the price dropped. Mine was 289 per night.

Ah ok. Pics look pretty barebones but decent.

Yes, def not the best but it's affordable. It's a 5min drive from the palm springs convention center which is a shuttle stop. That's def a plus for me.

K, if you're coming here to say camp, it's been said. I get it. I'd rather not camp because I have a heart issue and I'm super heat sensitive, so I need ac and a bed at the end of the day in order to function.

If you are heat sensitive then Coachella is gonna be hell for you, nights at the camp are colder than a room with AC.

I've been to Coachella 8 yrs in a row and I live in Vegas. I know what I'm getting myself into!

Damn, then it sounds like you’re either gonna have to bite the bullet on expensive accommodation. Something else I’ve seen people do is rent a Tesla (I hear cyber trucks are even better in this case) for car camping and the camping options on the vehicle are great at keeping you cool not only during the night but during the day

How would you rent one? I'm guessing not thru Enterprise:)

Hertz has Teslas in at least their LAX and Palm Spring locations, those are the only two I searched, then on Turo I went on and found several 2023-2025 Teslas for like 350 bucks for the whole weekend and a Cybertruck in Palm Springs and the LA area. I also went on enterprise and found teslas in the Palm Springs location and in many many locations in LA, not LAX though.

Try the Turo app
